Exercise is probably the only thing keeping me healthy! 8 years into this journey ob the hypothyroid rollercoaster. I start each day walking the dogs and mix in some cardio and/or weights a few times a week at lunch or after work. Overall I'm pretty healthy, but when my fingers are blue and I am so cold and exhausted, I…

Wild shot here, have you looked at calcium levels? Your body built a baby's bones, which is incredible. Pregnancy can pull significant calcium from your body which you have to balance back out. Thyroid hormones and the calcium available to rebuild your bones are closely linked, I don't know enough to explain it. Reading…

Do what works for you, Chris. There is no one right answer for us Thyroid folks, we each have specific chemistry at play.

I had a huge amount of anxiety BEFORE I was diagnosed. Woke up terrified many nights. I didn't link the thyroid and anxiety until I settled into some sort of normal a year after I started medication. First off, hugs and comfort to you, sheesh anxiety is just sheer horrible. Second, I encourage you to make an appt for blood…

Wow wow wow, thanks @lindsey1979! I have my semi-annual bloodwork next week and will see what it takes to get more of a detailed diagnosis (Hashimoto's or ???) and/or deeper tests. This month, I see some weight loss some weeks, and that is freakin' unusual and welcome. So I want to figure this out. I will go back and do…

I am under thyroid treatment, now under control for four years, no more rollercoaster, but heavier than I used to be. Synthroid 88mcg, and have my blood work done every six months.

WiFi scale! That's pretty cool. I have just the last month of day-to-day data. Rarely weighed in, only monthly at most, and maintained an even 132 for 30 years before thyroid problems. That put me on a down to 120, then up to 145 rollercoaster. Now, sheesh, grasping at straws to get back to normal. Guess I'll keep…

Hey, congrats on shaking up your diet! Let us know how it goes. I must say the focus on protein in the last 15 years or so and now healthy fats has shaken up some of how I eat. My brown rice and veggies now gets a half avocado and pumpkin seeds and sesame oil to boost fats and protein. I eat meat more often. I bake less…

Yes, hugs. I have dogs, which helps keep me motivated, once they get used to Walk just try to stop them :) So here's my solution. About 4 years ago I started taking my pill (Synthroid, 88 mcg) each morning with a tall glass of room temperature water, then walking for 20 minutes to an hour before I do anything else. I have…

http://www.doctoroz.com/recipe/dr-hymans-10-day-detox-diet-whole-food-protein-shake Went for this recipe since you like a shake and seemed to want to try a whole food solution, but you have a lot of substitutes to do for your tree nut allergy. Pumpkin seeds and whey powder with blueberry, avocado and a fiber maybe? I think…

Two cups of kale and two eggs, cooked at home, then chilled and topped with one half avocado. Will eat cold (cooked greens digest better for me - and cold egg out of the shell is SO much neater to eat than a hard boiled egg :)). 308 calories: 16 carb, 22 fat, 17 protein. I know, lots of fat, but it's working for me.

Costco had 1 quart bottles of avocado oil, I have loved it, lighter than olive oil, tasty. Sunflower oil would be just as good.

Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai! There are several versions to google, I like chicken or tofu, carrots and red bell peppers.

Oh, and tofu! Drain drain drain, get it as dry as possible. (1) Tofu mashed up with a fork and add mustard, a tsp of viniagrette, make a sandwich spread the texture of egg salad. Look for No-Egg Salad recipes. (2) Slice thin, sprinkle with soy sauce, lay on well oiled cookie sheet, bake til browned lightly.

I have exactly the same problem. I will eat meat, but it is not my favorite food. By far. If I don't make a lot of effort, I get 80% carbs each day, and eat too much cheese and bread, and well... Even in a busy week, pack three meals into a insulated lunch bag each night. The only way to get enough protein is from your own…
