  • I had pt done for my shoulder injuries, and the exercises they had me doing worked parts of my shoulders that rowing, push ups and pull ups never touched. My shoulders were strong before my injuries (so I thought anyway) Those are the parts that need to be strengthened after healing, and healing for me took a while. Rowing…
  • Have you had any other hormone panels done besides the thyroid?
  • This used to be me 10 years ago..... My how the tables have turned! I started out jogging secretly because I was embarrassed how I couldn't keep up with him. I literally couldn't even run for 30 seconds back then. Then one day I asked him if he wanted to go for a run and I whooped his butt lol. It sounds like he is a…
  • Listen to some inspiring music , don't make eye contact unless you want to, and just do your thing! That's what I do. I really only notice people when they are either having very loud, very personal conversations on their phones, or are doing things like spraying themselves with cologne while running on the treadmill next…
  • The problem with that is even a slight breeze sets off the pain, change in temperature, everything. It's king of like getting an electrical shock and burn at the same time. Even splashing water on the face or having a single hair move on your head can set it off.
  • My thighs and butt look like they belong on a different body lol. Even when they were at their largest and my weight was around 150 I still had ribs showing.
  • I also just wanted to add.... There are certain foods that really seem to worsen the pain, specifically nightshades. Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, potatoes, Gogi berries. Tomatoes and eggplant are the worst for me, especially if I eat them a couple days in a row. Soy sauce and foods with msg , yeast extract seem to flare the…
  • I have this, it comes and goes, usually lasting for 6 months or so at a time....it goes along with my hemiplegic migraine disorder. I find that no matter what I do, it freaking hurts, and I don't/ won't get used to it, so I just work out really hard and try to distract myself with pain somewhere else. Sometimes I use…
  • dear lord, this stuff is in pretty much everything now, especially gluten free or dairy alternatives...it causes some awful bloating
  • this happens to me off and on (ibs) and it really comes down to not enough fat plus not enough dietary magnesium. Usually I need at least one big meal a day to get things going... a bowl of rice with a generous serving of avocado usually does the trick. I do tend to go for a few days of nothing, and then seem to have a day…
  • PB2 is awesome, especially for smoothies. you could always buy one or two of those justin's peanut butter packets... they come as single servings so you could have your pb without worrying about eating the whole jar
  • have you taken any ibuprofen or nsaids lately? it could be irritation from that, or you may have mild gastritis from a virus or something. if it doesn't go away by tomorrow or gets worse you should probably see a doctor. Gallbladder attacks can feel like they are in your stomach, have you ever had problems with gallstones…
  • the blood test for celiac will not tell you if you have an allergy to wheat. It can also be inaccurate. The only way to be positive it to get the colonoscopy. I agree that it could also be the tomatoes. I definitely would not rely on benadryl to prevent what could be a future, potentially anaphylactic reaction.
  • I keep a banana or a quest bar in the car with water or sparkling water and have that on the way home. that way i don't stop at the store and end up with some awful impulse hunger driven purchase like clearance easter candy lol, or go home and start eating everything in the fridge. The water really helps too, because I…
  • giant salad of romaine hearts with berries, toasted pecans or walnuts, avocado, dried tart cherries, eden spicy pumpkin seeds, pan seared tempeh with ginger soy sauce
  • not really nutritious, but has anyone tried the so delicious coconut whipped topping in the tub that came out recently? it is dangerously good. would be really good with a crustless tofu pumpkin pie, layered parfait style
  • my standard is rice with beans flavored after cooking with fresh tangerine juice, lime juice and the zest/fire roasted tomatoes, with a generous topping of caramelized and fresh pineapple w/ green chiles and cilantro and diced avocado. lots of fresh grated ginger with the pineapple
  • i have pcos but have no insulin resistance. I get regular periods but they only last one day and i do not ovulate. I can only lose on 1200- 1300 cals a day, and the only thing that took the extra weight off initially was that and cardio that got my heart rate up to a minimum of 165 for at least 30 consecutive minutes, 4-5…
  • pain in the knees during running can be from so many different things, from shoes, to form, to increasing milage too fast. It can be caused by the way your feet pronate, to muscle imbalance in the hips/quads/calves. Do you do any type of cross training? What part of the knee do you get the burning in? does the pain get…
  • I try to get a good nights sleep, but it doesn't always happen. I get really bad migraines with paralysis, so i have a lot of motivation to sleep consistent hours. However, narcolepsy and ms give me pretty bad insomnia, plus. I fall asleep fast but wake up with dreams constantly.
  • I also forgot to add that avoiding caffeine/ stimulants such as sedated, certain allergy meds is advisable as well
  • i have had this off and on. Some of my hormones were very low. My doctor had me increase my mineral intake with extra dark leafy greens, and adding in magnesium/vitamin D supplements. Don't go too low with the calories, and exercise should be things like yoga, walking, resistance, weights, until you are better. I had very…
  • I make dinner my biggest meal. If i go to bed hungry I sleep poorly, which doesn't help with recovery from exercise, or give you the energy to do it the next day.
