Welcome Elaine! Sorry to hear of the cancer but great that you are a survivor. I agree that, no matter what, we all want to look nice and feel good too boot! For us older girls with health problems it's also extremely important to eat well and healthy. Good luck :)

OP, I too have a heart disability, CHF after having a medical coma and flat lining 4 times and after a stroke - so please forgive my wording some times. The hardest thing for me is having a really tired, depressed, and scary day.... every day, with a weak heart. But I have lost 36 pounds, size 4 (161 at my starting weight…

Me too (plus I'm old, so add some wrinkles :# ). I do know that I consciously try to hold my stomach taut (working those muscles) standing, sitting, lying whenever I think about it. Using a ball and turning it out from side to side (arms held to front - shoulder height, then turn to left, then right) is supposed to help…

Also, be sure you get plenty of sleep (7-8 hours a night). We all forget to do that and it is so very important.

It's cool LOL (but, I hate that I am still so fat). HAPPY EASTER ALL!

When ever I make a recipe builder for soup, beans, etc. I always weigh the food as raw. I then cook the item and weigh the item on a freezer Ziploc (tare for zero on scale before adding the item) that way I know how accurate the food is. I also, always, weigh in grams. One serving always works as 1gram then I select how…

I'm a little taller (5'6") and older (much, almost 58). Right now I weigh 128.4, size 6 and want to go down to 115, size 4/2. I have a small frame and know that I feel best at around 120 but want those 5 pounds to play with. Measurement is 38-29-38, have to work on that waist.

So glad your friend is doing well and I send him the very best. Please make him work on this. My first one was mild, like his, my second was a major one and you just HAVE to make those lifestyles. You're a great friend for him and I say thank you.

Don't know if I will make the goal :\ I…

Cravings are hard. But it seems to me that the longer I stay away from the "bad" stuff (I know nothing is bad, but not the healthiest food) the longer I don't always look for it. Luckily, I love veggies and I will munch on them when I want a craving (carrots, almost all of the green ones, cauliflower, etc.) Eat them raw or…

OMG, the best Karamel Sutra. But, I would eat the whole carton. Now I haven't had one in....well, I don't remember and hope I can forget.

LOL, that's them!!!

Walking is the bomb! Inside or outside, it's just good for you. Your legs have the major (large) muscles that help your body. Also, gets those endorphins to feel good. So great that you take your puppies out. You are a good momma. :)

I call them "Aunt Louise Arms" and I HATE them but part is age and part is just waiting time when losing. If anyone can figure out a way to make them pretty again, PLEASE let me know LOL.

I now buy Starbucks beans and have them grind them for Espresso (I so love the taste). Then I use Fat Free Half & Half, Truvia and Cinnamon, add some ice and have an Iced Latte Coffee in the summer. (Wow, that REALLY sounds good right now) But, I try to keep these at a limit. As far as calories before MFP, probably 2500+ a…

If I like it, anything goes. Just keep the calories within my allotment. Only the things I DON't like: Lima Beans Black-eye peas OKRA (yew!) Fishy fish Frozen peas (although they have gotten a lot better then when I was a kid) Frozen green beans but, I LOVE the fresh Raw onion but, the cooked kind is great Soda Low fat…

Or you can just wait until you get old (then they turn into pancakes) akkkkkk!

I'm almost 58 and I am 5'6" Started with MFP on 1/30/12 at 161.5, had a problem that stopped me Started again 11/17/14 at 154 but... Didn't use MFP until 1/30/15 at 150 Currently 127 Goal 115 My tip: Just keep using a scale (food scale). I prefer using it by gram, that is the only way to really keep track.

Some REALLY No-Knead breads :) I love my bread machine as well (I make great bread, not boasting).
-
I just love my bread(s) but I have cut them down a lot to get rid of the belly (does not make any different I if heavier or thin). If I have it, I eat whole wheat bread and have for many years. I much prefer whole wheat than white, it gives that chewy thing and doesn't stick to my teeth like white LOL. In all, I eat…

LOVE the idea of mixing the seasons.

I don't like leftovers either except those required that slow cooking . If it is really "prepping" for cooking that you hate, many of your veggies, fruits and meats are found in the grocery nowadays and you can just grab a handful, weigh and cook (but you WILL pay for that premium). Good luck. :)
-
Just saying, WW and MFP are like apples versus oranges. I would stay with one or the other (I prefer MFP). Either way.....you are doing great!
-
Yes, I weigh my scale everyday and it gets frustrating because the weigh shows small decreases. BUT....I have lost some many sizes (from a 12 to a 6 (and I can take my jeans off with out using the zipper or button!). So...my thought is that the scale is NOT the only way to show a loss.
-
Even if it worked.....I HATE cold showers. Count me out, sorry.
-
Had no problem with your pic. Just know, we're rooting for ya. Use your little leggings and a top that fits tighter (personally, I HAVE to hide my belly cuz I am old and wrinkled too boot) it will show the progress! :)

Yes, pasta, dry looks so little but cook it and it looks like a WHOLE lot to me. (Just made Chicken Cacciatore with Farfella last night and it was soooooo good!)
