My heart breaks for you. One thing for sure that I could say, is with your depression, try walking for 30 minutes every day before every meal. Endorphins are HAPPY boosters! So, the good thing is mental AND physical. Then be sure to drink a full glass of water (8 ounce). After both items above sit down and have a healthy…

Spend an hour or so on your day(s) off and put your snacks in some Ziploc Snack size. Place your snacks in the fridg, car, office desk, etc. to keep them handy. Fill them with: Raw almonds (approx. 24 kernels) - 28.35 gram, 164 cal Orange Mandarin (approx. 1 med) - 196 gram, 94 cal Edamame (approx.1/4 cup) - 39 gram, 47…

How is the recipe not mine?? I added all of the items, decided what, how much, etc. I quite often set up the nutritional info from the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Release 27 since I believe it is the true info instead of the items (i.e. chicken breast, roasted of serving a cup, a container, etc.)…

Just a easy and (what I consider) a yummy treat instead mashed potato is: 1 serving 2 cups steamed, frozen cauliflower 30 ml (approx. 2 tbsp.) Land O Lake Fat Free Half and Half Salt and pepper, to taste Once the cauliflower is steamed, strain then let the pan dry out for a couple of minutes to get water out. I then mash,…

Got mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $40.00. You can weigh by gram (my favorite) or ounces. Same as DEgal99, it shows EVERYTHING and has a couple of booklets. Very easy to use and is extremely accurate. The top is glass and has the Nutrition Facts right on it. perfect portions E-mail: info@greatergoods.com Phone:…

Yep. Fiber One (Chocolate) is my favorite. Goes great with banana or/and raspberries and watch the fiber go through the ceiling. I don't really care about the sugar like I do with protein and fiber.

I always set up my recipes with MFP and it all figures it out for me (as long as I can select the item with grams. I so hate it when an item is setup as "medium", "cup", etc. Can't trust any item that way). Then, I put everything with my name in the beginning of the recipe (i.e.: (DebzNuDA) Chicken Curry with Sweet…

About three months when I purchased 6 new pair of jeans (went from a tight size 12 to a lose size 8). Motivation? I threw out all the old ones. :)

My favorite confession? Using a deluxe chocolate cake, stirred with water and at a whole bowl with a spoon. Yummy!! (but, alas, those days are gone)

I use my scale by grams on EVERY thing. The National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Release 27 shows 50 berries cost 68 grams. You need something else to get your carbs from.

Honestly, I love peanut butter!! Instead of the chips I chose a half apple (cut in half with the core cut out and stuff with a tablespoon peanut butter) and the natural sweet of the two works great for me. If I eat that, I no longer have a sweet tooth.

My body tells me what I need (veggies, lean meat, dairy, fruit). And no, I don't listen to my "mouth" for the junk stuff.

I know longer listen/read these studies. Each one has only researched what/when/how they chose to study. The whole picture must be seen by each person/group that YOU or I are looking for. I would need to see a Bariatric Physician, Endocrinologist, Nutritionist, and Psychologist (yes, your mentally counts as well). (Please…

Know how you feel! I had been doing so great then I increased my calories to 1200 (as I had my calories extremely low at 800) and my weight went up by two pounds instead of losing about a pound by week. This is so frustrating and.... worrisome since I have CHF (Congested Heart Failure). I take care that my foods and…

Sry, I agree with you. (I lucked in figuring out the quote LOL). This is why I don't post a lot. Wording and words take me tooooo much time. Thanks Sam

See, I told ya. I didn't end of my sentence... I enjoy most of the posts but telling an educated, health professional that they know more than them just bugs me off.

Seems to me that some members…

All I know is I HAVE to have my 2 Cuties (tangerines) EVERY night before bed. LOL

For me, the best way to stay in my calories and lose weight is listen to my body. If I need more protein I have legume or meat. If I need more carbs I have vegetables/fruit. If I need more fat I go for the avocado or nuts. ALWAYS drink plenty of water and ALWAYS check with your doctor

Also, water is calorie free, has a sweet taste (try Crystal Geiser or even better, Fiji), NEEDS your body and won't cause any health problems. Good luck hon. :)

Per Harvard Health Publications - One concern is that people who use artificial sweeteners may replace the lost calories through other sources, possibly offsetting weight loss or health benefits, says Dr. Ludwig. This can happen because we like to fool ourselves: “I’m drinking diet soda, so it’s okay to have cake.” The AHA…
