  • A lifetime ago I was married to a super insecure, abusive man. He always, always sabotaged my efforts to lose weight. He would even say he was doing it, not like one of those subtle things. When that did not work, he would get me pregnant. I wanted to go to college and he said “no, you’ll find someone else and leave me”.…
  • 10 lbs to Onederland… 😀
  • Mine was looking super weird, too! The past couple days though it has smoothed out some so I think it will keep improving! I bet it will for you, too! 👍
  • Any frozen vegetable (broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, green beans are ones I make the most) are delicious when roasted in the oven. I just dump the bag on a sheet pan, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and pepper. I do mine at 425 for about 15- 20 minutes. You can look at them…
  • I had a neighbor compliment my weight loss. We had talked about it a year or so ago, and she came out of her house while I was walking my dog to mention how good I’m doing. And my other NSV is my arms look better! I still have miles to go in that area, but they were looking very bad after losing a certain amount of weight.…
  • 8/1 213.2 8/8 213.8 8/15 213.6 I’m actually eating right below maintenance the past couple of weeks as I’m recovering from covid. I was at the doctor last week and he said the pain I’m feeling is pleurisy and it should self resolve. Which I’m starting to perk up so I imagine I’ll be back to 100% effort soon. I have been…
  • Well, the time is going to pass anyway. Each and every day you get to make choice to help or hurt your future. If you get a flat tire, you don’t go out and pop the other three and bust out the windshield. No, you fix the flat and go on. Same thing here… just keep going. Say you don’t meet your calorie goal today & you give…
  • My NSV of the day is I got my feet tangled up together while going out the back door because I am as graceful as a drunk duck… and I didn’t wipe out and break my face, my wrist, etc. How is that a NSV? Well, immediately after recovering my balance I said out loud to myself , “the yoga is paying off!” Because 6 months ago,…
  • ^this Absolutely. Cutting/reducing alcohol intake will do nothing but positive things for you, but there are healthy limits if you value your wine. You do not need to give up everything you love or enjoy. You did not say your height or weight, and unless you are a tiny woman already 1200 is likely to start you down a road…
  • I lose the most consistently when I weigh myself every day. Sometimes I don’t weigh but once a week, or once a month even. It depends on how closely I’m monitoring what I’m doing. I was super sick a couple weeks ago and I ate as close to maintenance as I could because I was not trying to add stress to my body. I’m feeling…
  • Kind of weird but, I thought I had a dentist appointment today. Walked in confidently and said “‘I’m your 11 o clock “ they were like “wow, you look so different. Did you do something to your hair? Something is different…” I was literally at the wrong office. lol. So , they were so kind and got me in and out. I got to see…
  • Yesss! Awesome job! 💪 I’m looking forward to see your progress from this point, but you have done amazing so far.
  • 8/1 213.2 8/8 213.8 I’m up .6 but I’m recovering from covid which I still don’t feel good, but I have been weighing daily and the 8/1 weight was a dip in my overall trend so I’m not concerned. I am confident I was super dehydrated that day. Just keep going!
  • Hydrate well. Seriously, just flood your body with water. It helps everything run more smoothly. How high is your deficit? Because I think it’s way better to lose 1/2 pound a week than to continually gain with a binge/restrict cycle. I eat apple slices as a snack. I buy them precut and you can eat a lot of them for little…
  • Take the salsa class! This is your real life… go live it!
  • We went to Lowes this morning and ran into one of my husband’s co-workers. The NSV here is I was not mortified to be there…where people can see me. I no longer feel like a ratty old hag. I think husband is gorgeous. Just this big bearded, sexy, rugged lumberjack kind of guy & there have been times we have ran into someone…
  • That’s an awesome NSV! I bet you were beaming from all the praise. I feel like I have the face of my youth back. Hello cheekbones!! I’m 45 and losing weight absolutely reverse aged me. It tightened up my jawline, took that puffiness out of my face. My NSV is for the first time ever since I’ve had an Apple Watch or maybe…
  • @Athijade , I hope you feel better soon. 💐
  • I can’t have gluten so that cuts out cookies and cakes. I know they have gluten free versions of those things, but I don’t buy that. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are gluten free and I do have one or two of them maybe once a week or so. If I really want something, I eat it because believe me, I did not get fat because I ate…
  • I think it’s more common than people think. I’m 92 pounds down and still plodding along. Yoga pants, the compression/ slimming kind are my new best friend. Compression and smoothing are what you need in that stage. I’m currently at the bat wings and ribcage…. hip bones, collar bones… oh hello, cheekbones!…and floppy tummy…
  • Have you ever heard of Richard Simmons? He was a super famous fitness trainer in the 80’s. Sweating with the Oldies? Look him up. He was obese for his child hood/young adult and successfully maintained his loss and preached eat less, move more.
  • I’m 7 days past my positive test. I was sick 4 days before my positive test and honestly, the worst thing was I felt like my muscles had decided to my bones were too long. So painful. Horrible muscle spasms, sweating, chills, room spinning but…no fever, ever. I’m in early cirrhosis due to an autoimmune liver disease and I…
  • I just dump a protein shake (I use Members Mark brand 160 cal/ 30 gram protein) in my coffee. I don’t use any other sweetener and it’s fine that way. That’s the whole breakfast. It’s simple and I think it’s filling. If I’m like super hungry and that doesn’t cut it, I will eat a banana at the same time.
  • Apple slices. They sell a big bag at the store for like $6 already cut up. The whole bag has maybe 5 or 6 servings at 80 calories a serving. I eat them on and off over a couple days and I just make sure to log the total number of servings that is in the bag over those few days. Cheese sticks. They are 70-80 calorie…
  • This is not silly! That is awesome. Keep going. Seriously, being able to get down and back up off the floor quickly and efficiently is literally a test doctors use to gauge your health. I’m super happy for you! It’s called the Sitting-Rising Test or SRT if you want to look it up.
  • I go by the dry weight posted in the nutritional information on the box. It will generally say cups and grams. If I’m going to make 4 servings of rice for dinner, I measure on my scale the weight of 4 servings. I cook it, get the cooked weight and divide it by 4 and separate out each serving. I hope that helps! I have been…
  • Hello! I’m 45 F from the beautiful sunny state of Florida! I weighed in this morning, 8/1 at 213.2 and would certainly like to reach Onederland by Halloween! 😀 8/1 213.2
  • My mom should be famous for her “backhanded compliments” … and I will tell you this… it comes from a place of insecurity and jealousy. Every. Single. Time. Whoever said that.. not your friend and super shaky ego, trying to drag you down to lift themself up.
  • I’m visibly smaller today and holy cheekbones, has my face changed. It’s smaller, my eyes look HUGE… It’s shocking.
