I didn’t vote because I’m not sure what you mean by “best”. I use Almond milk because it’s what I use for any “milk” as its only 30 calories a cup and cows milk makes me itchy. It works fine. I think it’s all just personal preference.

I lowered my own cholesterol naturally with the methods you are describing. Good fats help remove the bad fats. Flax seeds, chia seeds, olive oil, old fashioned oats… I do take fish oil and I was eating fatty fish a couple times a week. My husband has not had such luck attempting to lower his cholesterol. Maybe if you are eating your feelings, but weight gain comes down to calories in vs calories out. Period. You can do this. Log everything you eat/drink accurately and stay inside your goals.

I put a protein shake in my coffee every single day for breakfast and I’m good until 11 when I have lunch.160 calories My husband drinks a carnation instant breakfast for breakfast every day. Think of calorie counting like finances. You have say 10,500 (7x 1500 ) calories to spend a week. Stay inside that goal and at the end of the week you’ll be fine, inside your deficit and losing weight. Now like with your job, your budget can vary. Stay over? Get paid more.
