Well, I just started swimming so... and I'm not allowed to run, the swimming to to replace the missing weight training and the running. but if I had a racing bike, I would be game. Is it just me, or is that kid the same guy who played Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings? I didn't drown, so it was a win. And I really…

I confess I'm a little nervous today, I'm starting a swimming routine to replace my gym routine and I'm afraid I'm going to go to the pool and stand out as the worst swimmer there, as I can't put my face in the water so I'm not very "professional" at the swimming thing.

I find that Map My Run also went weird (dropping and picking up my path) if I had something else going that used a lot of data (like the kid in the stroller playing Angry Birds Epic). And I used a garmin vivofit, but if I put it in my pocket it was just as accurate as putting it in my shoe or sock (wasn't big enough to go…

I hope this thread is still around in another year so those of us just finding it now can search up our first posts.

If I ever find gold, I'm making a third to be like C-3PO and then I will have choices. Lol. The inflatable run sounds like way too much fun.

Plus for all the Americans, Canada is having a 40% off sale. (Thanks, weak Canadian dollar :( )

I looked into the foam ones, but apparently by the time they get to mid-canada they run out of foam. This year the reviews weren't that good.

(apparently you can't carry quotes over the pages, but to those ppl who commented on my photo) Yes it is R2-D2! My running partner wears leg warmers all the time and she keeps trying to get me to try them, and once I was told no more running she told me I had to make Star Wars themed leg warmers. I was going to do R2-D2…

Thanks :) I was challenged to make it happen, so yeah, I did it. now I'm working on the other one. Got about 3 inches done.

Hi Glinda, I'm just south of the Winterpeg, all my activities are in the city actually. I'm a bit of a weirdo and when I hear Northwestern Ontario my mind goes to Atikoken. Am I close? lol. and @Oberon21 nope, its a late 1970s style, but not vivid, I need to figure out how to get the pics on my phone on to here. (Finger…

@Oberon21 I am on page 1041, and saw pics of your renos. and I wanna say, I want your bathroom.

THIS! Exactly. Except, I have Spinal Stenosis, and herniated disks and I need to wait for the neurosurgeon to decide whether or not I need surgical decompression of the spine. :( no HIIT, no heavy bags, I can't even bend and tie my sons skates. I was up to 25 miles a week, as well as 10+ miles of walking as well (I live in…

You are Oberon WAY back in 1034 ;) I haven't come across any quotes tho. You are still POFoster21 in quotes :) And yay for running. You can do 7-10 miles for me. lol. If I were allowed, today is my 10 miler day. I'll have to settle for walking a few miles on the slow, uninclined treadmill (I'm allowed that and slow…

Thanks. I am still reading thru and am on page 1018. I think I'm never going to catch up, so I just decided to post

But then there would be weaving in ends. Can't win.

It may have been a confession but there was no guilt. ETA: I wrote a ton more too, I dont know what happened. I'm only sad that the print of my favorite has been discontinued

Thanks, that's Parker (as in Peter :) ) He was listed as a mastiff mix, but as he grew he grew LEAN, so I did the DNA thing, and it came back as Grey Hound, Great Dane and Lab. He's a 115lb baby.

Confession, I have a hole in my favorite leggings and I'm sad, even tho its my fault for washing them wrong, and I used that as an excuse to buy 3 more pairs.

Also for non fictions, Decrartes Error is also good. I generally read fluffy fiction, but on occasion read these intellectual books. Have you tried Etsy? Tho that would cost a mint.

Well a month is only if I don't get bored out of my mind knitting the same thing for a month. Could never do a blanket, even tho that is a goal I want to reach. I like mittens and slippers because it takes me less than a week for a pair, then I can change yarns, and look at a different colour for a week. And…

I tried to read new rules for lifting for women, got about 1/3 of the way in and decided to stick to strong lifts. I also just borrowed one from the library, Body weight anatomy (or something similar) by Bret Contreras. That one is interesting so far. If you like police investigating behind the scenes stuff, there is a…

Its taken me 5 days to knit 1 leg warmer. I would guess for me, over a month for a horse onesie.

What are you reading? I just finished weaving in ends on 6 colour changes, I'm on a roll. And I convinced my kids they did not want to watch minions for the 8th time this weekend. How to train your dragon 2 FTW. I confess I am going to blow my calories on a very planned snack of chips and guac

I've been doing some weaving in, and then giving up as bored, then picking it up. It will get done by golly. lol. Knitting is something you either get or you don't. I find the knittinghelp.com and knit picks videos super helpful if I run across something I don't know.

I confess that I get a little excited that some of the longer term residents of this thread respond to a newbie like me. :) I also confess that I hate weaving in the ends of my knitting with the passion of a thousand fiery suns, but really love the striped look and may or may not have at least 3 projects complete except…

The Manitoba Marathon is Fathers Day weekend. Obviously in Manitoba (canada,) Winnipeg to be exact. I love running too, but kinda scared to do a marathon.
-
I was training for the Manitoba Marathon, but only a half. My goal was to to the Disney World Challenge after I proved I could run a half. I was also training for the Mud Hero Run as well. :) I wonder if I need to post in the introduction section? (RE:being ghosted out. Edited for clarity)

That's odd? I have to see a neurosurgeon before I can get the ok to run. I hope its soon, but I'm not holding my breath (great that in canada I can see the dr without having to mortgage my house, but the waits are a bit crazy).
-
Thanks. My husband has been throwing new movies and yarn (so I can knit) at me to keep me from breaking the Dr's no housework rule.

First Post, but way long time lurker (started at the beginning, read to 1003 and then jumped ahead, will probably go back and read back there again. ) Hello! I confess, I am very annoyed that I'm on modified bed rest for my back when I was in the middle of marathon training and went from being able to eat 2000+ cals a day…
