So, I should up my calories - or just my protein? I am currently eating about 1 gram per weight of protein on the days that I lift.

I am always someone who wears 2 tank tops under every shirt because i feel like it "holds my stomach in" better. I no longer feel the need to do that. I can confidently walk around in jeans and ONE shirt!

If you aren't weighing your food you are most likely consuming many more calories than you think you are. My advice is to get a food scale and measure every single thing you eat. You'll be surprised by how off your guesswork was! Also, I agree that you don't need to weigh yourself to know if there are changes. Take…

That's great! Keep up the good work!

I'm so sorry about your loss. I went through the same thing this past summer. I was doing really well in my weight loss journey and then I lost my father suddenly and unexpectactly in June. It threw off my whole routine and I clung to food to help cope with the pain. I just started back on this journey last month, and I am…

i was the same exact way for as long as i can remember. I was addicted to Mt. Dew and always had one for breakfast, maybe 2 or 3 during the work day, and at least one when I got home. People laugh when I say it's an addiction, but it's true. It was really hard for me to quit (over a month without now!), but after a while I…

Well, I can promise you both that I was not eating only 1100 calories when I gained the weight, or you're right I wouldn't need to lose anything..obviously. I have been EXTREMELY persistent in logging EVERYTHING that gets put into my mouth. From salt and pepper to meat, veggies, fruit, dips - everything. So, yes I know…

Protein is the one nutrient I go over...every single day! lol

Thank you all for your suggestions! I will start investing in some full-fat foods! I appreciate all your opinions!

Thank you! I have been trying to eat more things like avacados and almonds which have higher calories, so we will see how that goes. I am a huge salad person, but dont like dressing or anything on them so i tend to eat them plain...guess ill start putting some olive oil on them. THank you!

I am generally around 1100 most days - there are a few exceptions when I will eat around 1250-1300 but those days are rare! I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day - I weigh/measure every single ingredient and log it all.

I am 5'3, 163lbs, and I exercise (lift and cardio) 5 days a week. I use a scale for all solids and measure all liquids. I am extremely diligent about logging everything I put into my mouth. Currently using MFP I rarely hit my normal 1200 calories let alone the exercise cals - i dont even log all my exercise bc i dont eat…

This is amazing! You look amazing and I am so happy for you! I hope that you can continue on your med free lifestyle! Congratulations and so inspiring!

I weight myself at least every other day  not necessarily proud of it, but I get too curious. I also do get discouraged when it goes up instead of down, but I just keep telling myself that the next day it could have the same change -- but the other way!

I am on a mission to lose 40-45lbs and would love to be weight loss buddies :) feel free to add me!

You and I have very similar goals! I started at 173 and want to get down to 140-145ish. Good luck & we can do this!

Beautiful.

Congratulations! You look great!! Very inspiring!

When my sweet tooth hits I usually try to eat some strawberries or other fruit. If that doesn't take care of it itself, then I dip the fruit into hazelnut cocoa spread (I used the Kroger brand, and it's delicious - and better than peanut butter). Hope this helps!

Non-scale victory. Like going down a pant size, fitting into a shirt that never used to fit you, someone telling you you've lost weight, etc. Welcome to MFP :)

It's been so great reading everyone's comments, and although I will not be going to the extreme of some of the suggestions (like kicking him to the curb), I have gotten a lot of wonderful feedback that I will be incorporating into our every day lives. One thing I didn't point out well in my original post was that my…

This is a really good idea! I do the same, for the most part. When I am craving something - I eat it, but in a smaller portion! Thanks for the tips for him, I never thought to introduce it like that!

Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words and support! I will take the advice and continue to move forward in my journey. One thing I want to point out is that luckily my 2.5 year old is right where she needs to be weight and health wise. She is a very healthy eater (only asks for fruits and veggies for snacks) and…
