First of all, I am sorry that your son UNINTENTIONALLY hurt your feelings. He is definitely not a bully. He was upset and angry and may not know the right or wrong ways to express those emotions yet. I am assuming he is around other kids and may have heard the words before, or even from TV. To call a 5 year old a bully is…

Nope, Michigan doesnt put the weight on there either (thank goodness)! They ask for it when renewing or getting it for the first time, but it's not printed on the card!

No one really mentions anything like that to me either, but thats what we have MFP for! To celebrate all of those things with each other  Hope your race went awesome!

I am now 8 months in my journey and have lost 34lbs, with about 10-15 more to go. I have FINALLY noticed the arm pit shaving thing everyone in here talks about! It is definitely trickier now! It's weird to me how confident and pretty I can feel one day, and the next feel the same way I did on the day i was talking my…

Let naysayers be naysayers, and you just keep making GREAT progress. I am so happy for you and for your boys that you took things into your own hands and got motivated to start! Your progress in 90 days is astounding and I am rooting for you as you continue on your journey! P.s. Those naysayers suck ;)

That's amazing!! Great job and very motivational!

5'2.75" here  I started this journey on January 29, 2015 at 173lbs (NOT my heaviest ever which was 194 a few years ago) I am now down 27.5lbs and got about 15.5 left to go to get to my first goal weight of 130lbs. I will re-evaluate my goals then and see if I want to lose some more or just focus on gaining muscle!…

I am right there with you guys! 26, 5'3" and needed to lose 40-45lbs (lost 21 already!) My advice is to just jump into it head first - but slowly if that makes sense. What I mean is don't sit and wait 'until Monday' do it now. BUT don't be too hard and restrictive on yourself because if you treat this like a strict diet…

I was addicted to Mt. Dew (drank way more than I am comfortable sharing LOL) I gave it up cold turkey. The headaches got pretty bad for about 3 days but with some excedrin and lots of water/green tea they went away!

My daughter. Teaching how to be healthy and active instead of sitting on the couch watching tv.

I agree. I feel more motivated and accountable when I weigh myself more frequently. I usually weigh 1-2 times a week and I keep a log of it here and also on an excel spreadsheet. I find when I don't weight for too long then I get lackadaisical with my diet - so even when I see it go up a little it motivates me to do better!

I'm 5'3" and my 1st goal weight is 130, but once I get there I'll re-evaluate and maybe see if I can get to 120

I too drink 1 Monster a day. The White Zero Ultra is my kryptonite!

Oh okay. Thank you!

I gave up alcohol back in January (although i rarely ever had any then.) Are those numbers grams or percentages?

Thank you, this helps a lot! I try to do weight lifting 5 days a week (follow a program from BodyBuilding.com) and on those days i warm up with about 20 minutes of cardio. If i make it to the gym on the 6th day i do just cardio for about an hour. If i dont make it to the gym on that 6th day i try to just be more active at…

Gotcha! Thank you!!!! That is a help! Do you count your macros? I just looked at IIFYM and estimated my BF% just to see how they calculate macros and it had my carbs way higher than my protein. (Currently I eat way more protein than anything and only get carbs through meats, veggies and fruit)
-
Thank you. Can I ask why you took 500 off?
-
It's already set at .5lbs a week, and I am generally hungry throughout the day (before I work out) rather than after. Thanks for the advice though!
-
The last two weeks i have felt like there has been no progress made and my motivation has plummeted completely, therefore, I have not been eating as well as i should have and my workouts have been minimal. I NEED to get back on track! I still have 30lbs to lose!

I am 5'2ish and I lost 14 lbs in 2 months. Eating 1200-1300 calories a day and working out about 60-90 minutes 4-6 days a week.

I am only starting my journey and only down 14 lbs with 28 more to go, but i have already noticed that my boyfriend is not extremely supportive. While he wants me to do what will make me happy (and he is starting to track food also) he actually told me last night that if this starts to take over my life he won't deal with…

It has gone up about 4 lbs over a two week time. I weighed this morning and it was back to what it was 2 weeks ago (-4lbs) but who knows just how accurate they are with water retention and blah blah blah. I never eat more than 1300 (and yes, i do weigh/measure everything including salt and pepper). I stick between…

thanks!

LOL, well i am open to all suggestions, but don't plan to up my cals just yet. Do you have a suggestion by chance? Should probably mention, that while I am looking for definition (not gaining muscle - well not yet in the journey anyway) I am still trying ot lose weight as well.
-
thanks so much!!

I have no clue. I have not measure and don't know how to measure really.

Thank you.

I want to point this out...I do not think weight gain was muscle by any means..I am eating a deficit and will not gain muscle while on it... I just pointed that out because I don't want everyone to answer "muscle weighs more than fat" like most people would.... THanks for the advice, I will look into adding more…
