That is a fantastic NSV! I've been doing some running in place at the gym with the trainer and I told him I'm ready to run like the big kids do. Keep it up!

About once a week I have a diet 7-up or diet ginger ale. About once a month, I'll have a glass of juice. But most of the time it's regular water or sparkling water.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I consistently have pretty good calorie burns - I'm still pretty big and it doesn't take much to get that heart moving for me. I've discussed it with my trainer and he thinks we've been on target with what my last HRM was reporting. I don't rely on the machines at the gym because they…

You are making progress and it takes time to transform the whole body - physical and mental. I've been doing this since August and the mental part is daunting. That said, definitely include strength and toning exercises in your routine. I don't want to get to my goal facing some big plastic surgery bill to remove the old…

I'm not a big fan of the scale (and it sometimes feels the same about me). But I also measure once a month. I may have a month where I don't lose much weight, but the progress is definitely seen in the inches lost.

I would recommend watching cals, protein, fat, and sodium. Yes, you should watch your overall calories but your progress can be affected by the types of calories you eat. I watch sodium because I am borderline hypertensive, and I also know that more sodium means a crummy day on the scale. Protein is very good to watch…

Just remember that you are going to change and fluctuate daily and weekly. Curse at the scale and walk away knowing you've done all the right things this week. Go back to it next week.

You can't see me right now, but I'm bowing to you! There is no way I would have been able to do it because sweets and me used to be best friends. Congrats on an incredible NSV!

Our favorite local place has steamed chicken dumplings that are out of this world. They also have a wonderful teriyaki chicken they serve with broccoli. Yummy!

She has always said "I'm not your cardiologist, I'm your cook." Anyone that thinks that eating like that all the time is okay is not living in a real world. There aren't many cooks/chefs making meals that we should all eat on a daily basis. But at the end of the day, it is my responsibility to make the choices that are…

As my daddy says, those people wouldn't be happy if they were hung with a new rope. Some just like to gripe!

No laughing, but for just good, plan walking shoes, I have a pair of Easy Spirits. I love them, but I only use them for walking. I also have a pair of Asics that l love.

Back in my WW days, we were told that a beverage counts as water if it isn't caffeinated or sweetened. That ruled out coffee, tea, juice, etc. Hope this helps.

I am not a weekend binge-eater, and I also don't allow myself to have a cheat day. For me, it's such a slippery slope that I'm afraid I won't come back. But....that's not to say that I don't enjoy myself on the weekends. I usually spend extra time at the gym on Saturday mornings so I have an extra 600-800 calories to use…

I'm going to continue to log through the holidays and enjoy myself. I'll just have to do a little more exercise if I'm going to enjoy a cookie or two.

Let us be your support system - we all understand the issues. Add us as friends and we'll motivate you as often as you need it. As for tracking your calories, it will seem tedious at first, but it's the best way to know exactly what you're putting in your mouth. It's very eye opening. You'll get used to it and you'll stop…

You need to do something that works with your schedule and your hectic life. If you have walking tapes, I think that would be a great way to start your day. Or, depending on your budget, maybe a Wii that you can enjoy with your kiddo. Good luck - feel free to add me for motivation and support.

Welcome! I think that you'll find most of here supportive and motivating. You'll come across a troll or two, but ignore them. Feel free to add me as a friend if you're looking for motivation. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished so far!

Yes, I count it towards the water. Some days, I just need a little something different.

It can be tough. I brought all of the leftover Halloween candy to my co-workers today. When you're tempted by something calling you from the table, ask yourself if it's worth it. Are the calories you are about to consume that good, or will those calories impede your ultimate goal?

Congrats on your progress!

I was already a member at a gym but I made the investment in a personal trainer. It was a tough $$ bullet to bite, but I knew that would make the difference for me. Take advantage of the free session to get some ideas for a program that combines cardio and weights. Then, if you can swing it, get another session a couple of…

Must. have. chocolate. I have a terrible sweet tooth - that's probably how I got here! Anyway, I generally have one piece of something every night. Lately, I've been having Russell Stover sugar free mint patties (1 is 60 cals) - like a york peppermint patty without the guilt. I've also enjoyed Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp…

One of my newest snacks/sweet treats is a Kashi granola bar - it ha a ribbon of dark chocolate on it. I'm also a huge fan of small granny smith apples and Baby Bel mini cheese.

To open your diary, you need to go to "My Home" and change your settings. I would try a couple of things - first, up your calories to 1400. Make sure you're getting lots of lean protein in there. It makes the body happy. Then, if you still need/want a day to be bad, limit it to one day. Try this for a couple of weeks and…

I feel your pain! About 2 1/2 weeks ago, my trainer dropped my calories. I hit a plateau about 10 days ago and was hungry all the time. So I ate a little more a couple of days last week (went above my calories, but within my exercise-earned calories) and finally moved off the plateau. I guess I convinced my body I wasn't…

Don't you just hate trying to come up with dinner ideas in the midst of all the crazy that is home? I go to the gym in the evenings after work, which means I'm thinking about cooking dinner at 8 p.m. I've recently started using my Sundays to cook a couple of meals for the week ahead. Last week, I made a couple of…
