  • Many processed meats (ham, sliced turkey) have gluten. Also, a lot of chocolates have gluten although you can find wonderful chocolates that are gluten-free. I was surprised that licorice has gluten in it, so maybe the jellybeans could also?
  • @Twibbly Thank you for making this comment! Before I went gluten free, I spent a lot of time soaking my hands and feet in hot water. I had microwaveable fleece mitts and foot warmers. And I slept with a heating pad. When I mentioned the change to my Dr. He was 'kind' but clear that it was just another thing only in my…

  • I went for another walk/jog. Wow it is a different and rather painful sensation when your muscles haven't done that in seven months! But, it is lovely to be outside in the warm air! Susan
  • Hi ya group! I am on vacation, visiting my Mom. So fun to see her! We Are not doing anything extraordinary but a lot of chatting and silliness. This week will be a huge challenge. • I have found that it is extremely difficult to figure out which of many food items or vitamins cause distress. Perhaps you could try to cut out all milk and the magnesium for a few days, and then only add one back in to see if you get a reaction. I hope that you find the culprit soon!
  • LOVE the skulls. All of my pot holders have hearts! My Mom makes them for me!
  • Hi, Geeze, Isabelle! I wish your neck was healing MUCH faster! Does icing it help reduce the pain? I exercised and stayed in my calories yesterday but not today. It feels like I am derailed but a one day thing cannot be a streak! So, I need to get out of my head and out of my own way and have a strong day tomorrow. With a…
  • Hi, I ended up with an unplanned rest day. Not really an issue of a time crunch more of an energy and mental block. But I'll be back in the pool tomorrow morning and looking forward to the temperature rising later in the week and maybe a walk outside! Take care Susan
  • As A person who is new to the LCHF diet, I am interested in seeing what the community thinks of this Op Ed. I have had a great amount of success over the last month combining LCHF and intermittent fasting so I have no intention of dropping my current diet to go back to starving on a low-fat regimen that does not allow me…

  • Hi everyone! Isabel! Welcome back! So happy that you had a nice vacation and good long healthy walks. • Alisa, I love the Christmas "when I want it" idea! The kiddos will be over the moon! What a wonderful Grandmother you are. I am going to put that idea in my pocket in case I ever make it to grandmahood. Shoveling is going to be my activity for today. I tried to get to the pool but the roads were just too terrible.…
  • Another snow day! Wow. This has been a tough 2 months of weather! On a fun note I got a super cute shamrock to hang on the front door. It looks great in the snow! :p Stuck in the basement on the dreaded stair master again today. But I did 45 mins and then 15 of weights. My temporary 'fast' is over but I still find it…

  • Hi all, I have experienced an odd and terrifying weight gain the last two days even though I have met or exceeded all of my goals. • Good evening all! I met my goals today and can only hope for improvements to follow. As you discussed, it is NOT all about the scale but with the determination to keep going, we hope to see success!
  • Good Morning! Isabelle - I have been taking your advise about eating up to 1200 calories per/day and I finally made it official and edited my goals in MFP. The scale has been moving down so I could not be happier! I got in a great swim this morning and plan some yoga time after grocery shopping today. My fingers are…
