If your energy is typically in the pits then yes you should take another look at what and how much you are eating. Gotta have fuel in the tank - don't run on fumes.

No. You may have some good meal combos that work, and cycle them on certain days, but not every day.

I don't have personal experience with this , but two tips come to mind: 1) Use Galloway's run/walk/run method - adjusting the intervals to what causes the least amount of pain. 2) Strength training of the quadriceps which stabilize the patella - Squats and Deadlifts (and variations) with weight that you can handle safely…

Haven't tried it myself, but I used to believe that you "have" to eat before a hard workout first thing in the morning. I've proved myself wrong. A little coffee and good to go. I was probably overestimating how many calories I really need.

Yes. Long story short - I was 50 lbs overweight 4 years ago. Started doing triathlons and marathons. Lost all the weight and kept it off. Used RunKeeper and LoseIt.
