  • Cooking shows never bothered me. But at my old apartment complex's (very small) gym I used to turn on food network on the TV so that the gym would empty out faster and I'd have the place to myself so...there might be something there. ;)
  • Ok, quick check in here. I'm on a 1,200 cal a day plan (yada yada yada I'm 5 foot nothing, yes its healthy). There are some days, when I'm below my goal. I still usually come in between 850-1,200 even if I've skipped a meal though (I work weird hours, it happens) That being said that's my total calorie intake and it…
  • I lift 3 days a week + Cardio, 2 days of just pure cardio and then 2 days are 'rest days'. Even on my rest days though I try and get my steps in (11,000 /5 miles:I have short legs!) with my FitBit.
  • Hahahahaha As someone who works outdoors and sweats A LOT, if sweating more meant fat loss I'd be 90lb in summer when it hits 105 F every year here in MD.
  • I went through this last week. The 'just take it one day at a time' thing really helped. I just kept asking myself what would make me more upset? Being hungry (knowing that its hormones) or backtracking on my hard earned progress? I didn't lose any weight last week, but I also didn't over eat and gain anything either. I…
  • I try and log the night before, even on days off and weekends. Mostly because I hate getting to the end of my day and seeing that I only have 25 calories left for dinner! I do change things sometimes though, if I want a different snack or my boyfriend or I are craving a certain meal by dinner time. I usually look at what…
  • Mixed frozen veggies, a pepper jack cheese stick, and a light cheddar cheese, ham, and apple sandwich on a whole wheat bagel thin!
  • I like flavored 0 Cal sparkling waters and vodka (80 cal). Easier for nights in rather than out at the bar though. Check out getdrunknotfat.com
  • As a 5 foot tall female if I don't do some form of cardio I'm stuck eating <1200 calories a day, which sucks. Therefore I bust my butt on the treadmill or elliptical (bad back) and earn some extra calories so that I can maintain a deficit without eating so few calories that it becomes unhealthy. My 6'2 boyfriend with…
  • Just bake and add some butter, cinnamon and 1/4 tsp brown sugar...YUMM I also like to roast them with olive oil and sea salt. If you have some flavored olive oil, all the better. I did this with a bergamot infused olive oil a few weeks ago and it was to die for!
  • Yes, it should be said I am 5 foot exactly. I'm short even as short women go. If you're starving, reevaluate your goals. Don't try and lose 2lb every week, try .5 or 1lb. Losing a bunch of weight really fast and then gaining it all back because you're starving and can't keep up that eating habit won't help you at all.
  • I sent you a request. My biggest advise is to eat back you exercise calories. Those of us eating at the bottom end of things need to watch that we eat ENOUGH! Going under can be dangerous so don't be afraid to eat some back. I will leave some to maintain a deficit (100 or so usually) but if I'm starving after a work out I…
  • You can friend me, I'm eating 1200 cal a day too and I've found ways to stay below on non-gym days. Check out my diary. As for seconds, just learn to cut down your recipes! You can plug recipes into calculators online and halve them so that you aren't making 6 servings for 2 people. If there's no more food, you can't have…
  • I am all about the Greek Yogurt smoothies, usually 227 gm plain, 0% fat Greek Yogurt (highest protein, lowest sugar count you can find) (130 cal) 1 cup frozen fruit (I like blueberries, strawberries, cherries, or blackberries) 1.2 cup no sugar added vanilla almond milk. (30 cal) 1 packet of splenda or other 0 cal sweetener…
  • Sliced strawberries with low fat or fat free whipped cream! I also like dry cereal if I want crunchy sweets. Chocolate soy milk is great for chocolate cravings too.
  • 1 cup of frozen fruit (usually strawberries or cherries) 1 cup 0% fat greek yogurt and 1/2 soy milk in a blender = an awesome and quick smoothie that is high in protein and hit my early morning sweet cravings without screwing with my macros. It also keeps me full for a really long time (usually 5+ hours)
  • I'd love a few more friends too!
  • Fellow herniated disc sufferer here! I cannot stress how helpful it has been to head over to physical therapy and also to take up a yoga class that specifically focuses on healthy backs. These don't help shed the pounds but they are a lifesaver on days when my back is acting up. I know my stretches and exercises and I do…
  • I know that it's winter and this might not work, but if you hit up a farmers market, CSA, or local produce store, ask for suggestions from the farmers themselves! The might point you in a direction of a veg you never knew about and they usually have some to die for recipes!
  • Just joined, looking to lose 20 as well, feel free to add me as well!
