Hello ladies! I'm afraid I'm a bit of a grumpy cuss tonight. I developed my annual UTI (I've gotten one pretty much every year since I was 5-ish years old and underwent tests as a kid to try and figure out why I get them so regularly). My previous PCP knew that I knew my own body and had experienced them for decades and I…

I forgot, I had said I would try to upload some of my husband's photos that he took around Maine. Enjoy 😊

Hi everyone! It's been quite a full couple of days. The boy performs on the karate demo team for local sporting events, fairs, etc. and they had 2 this week, plus his finals, drivers ed and all our usual obligations. We just got home from the gym where he invited one of his friends to join us. Before that he had his…

Barbara, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) when I was 27 years young (now 55 in 2 weeks). It's a form of arthritis that develops when young, late teens and early adults, usually males, lucky me. It can cause the bone to fuse together and effects my lower spine and hips mostly. But I also get pain in my…

Hey all! Today finally feels like summer after what seems like rain forever. 90degrees and every window open, I love it! I’m down with a cold, so have not been to the gym for a couple of days so as not to spread my germs. But I have karate tonight, so I think I will mask up and get it done. My DH is out weeding and taking…

Good afternoon, ladies! I figured I better check in before my son/grandson and I head off to the gym. It's been an extra busy few days. End of the school year concerts and clubs. He is in concert band and jazz band (saxophone), plus choir and was nominated to perform in the Maine ACDA festival and has been accepted to the…

Thank you for all the "welcomes" I think I made it to the right thread! I'm struggling today. I binged last night, and the guilt is real this morning. Not all bad, (except for cookies), but cheese sticks, protein chips, yogurt and fruit that put me well over my daily limit. I even gave up logging them knowing I was over.…

Hello everyone. My name is Lorna, and I am a serial starter. I went through lung cancer in 2013/14 and was placed on steroids to manage pain. That resulted in significant weight gain. I began going to the gym after I finished chemo and was doing ok for a while and then faced a series of surgeries and after each one, I…

G'day everyone! The rain has returned, AGAIN. I have a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis (diagnosed at age 27) and the bad weather really makes my body ache. We've been getting a ton of rain this spring and it's really wearing on me. At least I have no plans for today other than curl up and wait for it to go away.…

Thank you, Sophie! Yes, the fomo struggle is harder when I can't leave temptation out of the house. My husband and teenager have no weight struggles, so things are available for them that aren't good for me. This week girl scout cookies arrived. Ugh! 🤣

Thank you, Rebecca! I am on the opposite end of the U.S. in the great state of Maine. If folks can remember, my name is Lorna. I just got back from the gym with my teenager. He got me into Karate after begging for years for me to join him. He is a 2nd degree junior black belt and has been taking karate since he was 6 yrs…

Hello everyone. I hope I do this correctly! I am not new to MFP, but I am returning after a long time away. I got a Fitbit and used their logging system for years until they recently nixed the website and seem to only allow access from mobile devices. Sorry, but I am blind as a bat without my big computer screen! So, I…

Hi Diana. I am experiencing the same problem and tweaking my calories hasn't helped. I am being told by my trainer that I am probably trading fat for muscle, so my scale isn't moving, but my weight stays the same as my strength increases. True enough I lost inches, but no pounds. Have you taken measurements?

Thanks, Suzy :)

I am Lorna and I'm 44 years young! At this time last year I was going through chemotherapy for lung cancer and was placed on steroids to help manage the pain. Unfortunately it caused me to gain nearly 50lbs! Now I'm at the gym 5 days each week working toward regaining control of my weight and health. I have also legally…

Yes, I have. Thank you! I hope you find great success. There are some days I have to drag myself to the gym. But, once I'm there I have a good workout.
