I tried it, liked it. But I rinsed well, toasted then simmered with chicken broth and lots of veggies and just a bit of low sodium soy sauce. It's very filling so calories not worrisome. I little is all it takes to make a meal

I too have the same goal. I'm trying to lose 12lbs a month and I have lost my first 12 in less than 2 weeks. The key for me is to stay around 1300 cal or less. Lower healthy carbs, mostly from fruit. I have at least one every day, because I'm way to low on my protein. I'm avoiding high fat meats, due to cholesterol. I'm getting my fat with healthier options like avocados and nuts. High protein shakes with salads are very filling. You just have to get past the first couple days, and occupy your mind. I did a lot of reading, and stay busy. I'm day four and this is the first day I didn't wake up hungry! Quinoa is super filling. I made it risotto style loaded with veggies, I couldn't finish it.
