Walking 10,000 steps in a day is roughly 500 calories deficit per day. It will help you lose weight, yes. But going to the gym, doing cardio, or home workouts will help you lose it more effectively.

I do as well. I find the entertaining and good information... I also watch GMBN....

Something seems off on those Calories. On June the 12th of 2016 I did the Ride Cincinnati for Breast Cancer Research a Charity Sportive to raise funds to donate to the Barrett Research Facility here in Cincinnati, Ohio. I did a 45.0 mile ride and burned 2,028 calories. You rode 23 miles, which is roughly half at that and…

I assume it does.... I know nothing about Basketball. I would rather watch paint dry.

There is a Garmin Group for us "non-Fitbit" outcast to loiter.. . http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/100912-garmin-connect-users I'll add you by the way.

The Charge 2 has Connected GPS . The Charge 2 uses the GPS signal from the Cell phone to determine your GPS position. IF you want to leave the phone at home, you need one with a dedicated GPS.

I log every through Garmin Connect, of course you need a Garmin device to do that. And allow MFP and GC to work out the numbers. As far as Weights go, I log all of my workouts individually then, and all of my cardio workouts sync as per workout.

I have no issues paying premium prices for premium apps. I do not feel this is one of them.

See I have my Garmin Connect linked* Strava * MapMyFitness, and that entire suite of apps * Endomondo * Training Peaks * Ride With GPS So once I sync my device with my garmin connect it pushes everywhere. I've never had to dig for it to that degree.. But thanks for the heads up on how to do it if i should need to.

I, personally, own a VA/HR and It is a activity tracker first and foremost with the way it looks. But it's not as noticeable as a Fitbit. You can download the faces from the Connect IQ store to change the face of the watch, to make it look sportier, or classier. And Amazon does have some aftermarket bands to dress it up…

Body Shaming is Body Shaming regardless of if the person is overweight, or underweight. How about we address that first.....

I have a [Plastic] Pebble, And i have Android Wear/Moto 360. Both of them are piss poor activity trackers, IMHO... I have a good friend of mine who has a Pebble Steel and wears a Misfit tracker as well. If you're wanting something that's a "smart watch" and activity tracker. look at the Garmin VivoActive HR. All the Sports…

Sorry to tell you, If you get a Fitbit you'll be locked into Fitbits ecosystem, and most of their mid and lower level items do not have GPS tracking as a stand alone unit. I'm not 100% you can export their data .... someone correct me if I'm wrong. Garmin's will have you locked into the Garmin Connect Ecosystem, but you…

If you have an Activity Tracker like a Fitbit or Garmin device you can set negative calories to adjust your caloric intake on the fly. And if you download something like Endomondo, Strava or MapMyFitness you can have it sync to MFP to give you caloric burns that will integrate with your Negative Calories to fine tune your…

MTB is where I got my love for cycling I have a Specialized Pitch 650b. Upgraded the group set from a Shimano/SunTour special it a Sram GX 2x10. I'm slower than a flock of turtles stampeding through peanut butter on but I love riding it. I'm thinking next year will be the time to upgrade the fork on it and possibly the…

Tattoos are are of the devil. I once read that tattoo ink contains more toxins than a weed plant, and turn people into baby eating pitbulls.

Burgers & BBQ. What do I do as a substitute... extra cardio.

Now I understand this post is primarily referring to running. However this happened yesterday and will give you a exact reason why Runners use Cadence Pods and Cycling use Speed Sensors to speed v. distance. Yesterday I took my Aventon Mataro out for a 26 mile blast. The Bike is a fixed gear bike. Which means when the…

Correct. However you do go through tunnels, you go under bridges, you go under thick tree canopies. You cycling when it's heavily overcast and the clouds are messing with your GPS/GLONASS position. . .

Same reason Cyclist have Speed Sensors on their bikes. ;)

I look solely at my HR. I downloaded Garmins HR zone from the Connect IQ store and strictly look at it. Being in the Miami Valley, it's extremely hilly so I'm worried about flying up a hill and bonking out before the race is over....

My personal preference is Brooks. I have a pair of Launch 3 that I really really enjoy. I've tried Muzino, I've tried Ascis, I've tried Adidas and I keep going back to my Brooks.... However Running shoes ARE NOT a one size fits all. You need to go to your local running store and have them examine how you walk, how you run…

Certain Garmin devices allow you to star Segments on Strava's website and sync those Segments to your Garmin so when you get close to them you'll get a little reminder and KOM position on your screen. It'll tell you Fill_in_the_Blank Segment is coming up in x feet/meters. And during that segment it'll tell you if you're…

Took my Fixed gear bike out yesterday for her maiden voyage of distance. I tell you what, riding 27 miles on a fixed gear is a lot more challenging that riding 40 miles on a coaster bike....
-
Took my Fixed Gear bike out for her maiden voyage on a trip of distance. 26 and change miles. . . set 14 personal records on Strava... and honestly didn't have any segments pushed my Garmin 520, I wasn't even trying... One of these days I might have to go out, with them loaded and push for the gold.....

You can use Aloe Vera instead of the dedicated gel. It's much cheaper and works equally as well. That's what I do personally.
