I have worked in corrections for a very long time, so I can intelligently comment on this one. In prison inmates are typically fed around 2500-2700 calories per day. The breakdown is about 50/25/25 with carbs being the 50. Inmates on work details and in kitchen jobs can get double this. Also, inmates are allowed to…

I am 40, I have lost about 90 lbs. so far and I have no loose skin yet. I have "mushier" fat as I still have 90 lbs. to go but I have not noticed loose skin and my stretch marks on my shoulders have become narrower and fainter if that makes sense. I have also noticed I don't have knee pain, my sleep is better, my mood is…

My partner at work drinks one of these every day for breakfast. Lunch is a 2 liter of RC Cola, 2 cans of Pringles and a burger or two. I wish I was 6"9" and 295 so I could eat like that.

I am getting good at estimating and calorie counting after three years. On some days, I enter my foods into the log and I am no more than 1-200 calories of my guestimate. The way I look at it I am resetting the internal clock that was broken and said I could consume 4500 calories a day before. I will probably count…

That I was healthy enough with a 100 cholesterol score and 90 over 70 blood pressure. That I was strong because I was big. I could bench-press most people but couldn't catch them in a race across the street. I have really wide shoulders, and big arms and hands, so I thought I would lose them if I ever got, "Skinny" (I…

I have dealt with melancholy moods for as long as I can remember. It used to really bother me and I would get anxious about it, thinking there was something wrong with me. Then, my friends father gave me the following advice. I remember it almost word for word as several times a year I remember it during the hard times and…

I just created an online profile again after a 3 year break from all dating. I answered eleventy-billion questions, paid the big bucks, screened out and blocked anyone I had prior professional contact with, and hit the matches button. The algorithm picked.....MY EX WIFE as number one, and her girlfriend as number two. The…

Hello, I am a single 40 year old male in the wild mountain reaches of the rural California coast. I am single because I like being single and I live in a hunting and fishing paradise. I am never bothered by being alone until I get lonely. I am just starting to date again five years after my last relationship. As soon as I…

You say in your profile that, "Not many guys like big girls." I would say that any guy worth having likes a big heart and anything that comes attached to it. It has already been said here, but it is worth saying again. You are a very attractive young woman. Don't doubt yourself. I ended an eighteen year marriage five years…

I refuse to own a scale because I refuse to allow my two teen daughters to assign themselves value based off of a number. When I weigh it is at work, and I only weigh every 90 days to keep from forming an emotional reward/punishment relationship with a daily weight. I do my part so I see a significant loss every 90 days…

I print my logs from MFP and put them in a notebook that I keep in my locker at work. It is nice to see those entries in solid state. I also sometimes thumb through my book of wisdom for inspiration and food choices I know I liked.

Looks good to me. Lots of people start off on a very restricted diet and then fill in the calories as they go. I use almost all of mine every day. I see nothing wrong with what you are doing, just be aware that the fast losses will slow over time, so don't get discouraged.

Eat what you want, when you want, within your goals with a scientific approach. For me, snacking is out. I do eat some high protein item like an egg or cheese before bed in order to sleep all the way through the night without waking up hungry.

I just wanted to say how very impressed I am at the response here. I wish I had heeded such advise when my marriage ended. Faith in humanity restored.

I always find it rather strange that people can be so judgemental of strangers they have never met in real life. How can you assess someone's food choices if you don't live their life or have their lifestyle or have good handle on their goals? What makes your food choices so much better? Maybe open your diary and show us?…
