You look terrific already and I am betting you feel great too. More energy to keep going and reach your goals! Congrats to you :)

So happy you decided to do it. Bet you feel great! You have awesome arms there bud, just sayin!!!!
-
That's awesome! I'm getting there :)

Best answer here! My husband loves to sneak a peek too and always will despite whether I'm fit or fat (cause I've been all sizes).

Mine was telling myself "Just keep swimming" from Finding Nemo. If you have a bad day or two (and EVERYONE normal does occassionally!!!!) just jump back at it and keep swimming. Just keep swimming and swimming and swimming and you will get there. Promise :)

Well, I say whatever gets you in the right mindset for your lifestyle change is a great way to start. I started that way in January 2015, just had fruits and vegies and the slightest amount of low GI protein for a week. No sugar, No caffeine. It did help me kickstart my changes. Then I added in meats and other things back…

Jumped right back to it after a "bad" day :)

I also swim and I also take 100% of the calories from "Swimming laps, freestyle, light/moderate" even though I swim straight through for an hour and it seems a little more then moderate to me. I have to really want to do it though and have the time because it takes an hour to swim and then 1/2 hour to shower and wash hair…

Great job! I want to be like you when I grow up!!!! I'm not sure I will ever be able to stop because I am scared and although I have learned very well how to do it this last 15 months I have bad days where I eat something I did'nt plan to eat and I have to see how much calories that is going to change things up for the…

Hey there Plunky58  You said: Hello! I am with you! I am in my mid 50's and like you, tired of the baggy, dark and frumpy clothing. I am looking to lose 50 lbs. (3 and a half stone) So I am walking in the morning, walking on my lunch break and try to gym it at least 3 days a week for the treadmill and bike. This is…

Thank you very much for that morning laugh!!! I'm pretty sure I can totally relate to that even if I don't have a cat :)

So proud of the wonderful job you have done!!! Congrats to you. I started on maintenance in October because I felt the same exact way you do now. I still wanted 10 more pounds at that time but i just could not eat at deficit anymore. Sometimes I really do think it is all in our heads. When I upped the calories to…

I believe it is because FitBit will end up giving you more calories as the day goes on and after you exercise, etc. See if that is what happens for you. When I was wearing one that is what was happening for me. I'd eat breakfast and already be over in calories (cause I usually eat alot in the AM vs the PM....just the way I…

Great Job!!! 11 years......I can only hope! You are now my role model :)
-
I'm right with both of you! I often feel like a slouch around here but I don't want to do what I cannot keep up with for life. If I do any extra, its because I want to lose a few pounds. Once the pounds are off, I go back to this again.

Still as naive as EVER, I was hoping for some magic secret to maintaining!!! LOL. Just like I hoped for that magic secret to losing :) Oh well. That's the way the cookie crumbles. For me, I just keep on logging and weigh every day and adjust as necessary.

This ^ I have been thinking about this so much lately because after losing 50 pounds, I am still 8 pounds away from the ideal weight of 115 pounds (at 5'3" with a medium frame). I am always saying to myself "but I'm older so maybe I need to weigh a little bit more" or "I don't know if I can really do it." Bottom line is I…

Your routine is basically what I did when I was losing weight and it melted away. You will probably lose more then a pound a week with that routine.

Just wanted to say, you look amazing!!!! You got this. I will be super excited to see you get to your final goal. I really know you can do it. Every day is a brand new day. Just make the best choices you can each day and if you have a bad day, no worries cause the next day will be better with more focus! Good luck to you :)

Hey girl! I do want to chime in here that you look terrific! I know just how hard you work at things because we are connected. I can only agree though with others here that the heavy lifting is what is going to bring you to your goal. I believe you are at the right weight and now you just need to recomp to get the results…

Hi Cassie  Welcome back. This is my first time on MFP so I do not have a similar story BUT I hear of so very many people who go back up in weight. I recently met my goal in September and am maintaining at the moment but that is only 3 months. I'm quite sure life just happens and sometimes we get off track again.…

Understood completely......both my hubby and I miss my boobs too!!!! LOLOL

People say to me "Your not losing any more are you???" I just say quickly "no, I am done". Mind you, I am not too thin whatsoever. I hold it all in my middle (both belly and back). My BMI is 22.5 at the moment and I work out to build muscle and still do some cardio for maintenance. But I have more fat to lose!!! I'm not…

Totally agree with that above (sounds like I could have written it but instead of baking, cooking is my passion). Now that I am at maintenance again I am cooking more often and I love it! Only thing I will add is that I still have a hard time wanting to go to the gym. I don't mind the weight lifting so much but I always…

I am just like you! Now in the range. I'm happy with everything except my belly now. I want it to get flatter and it just won't get there. I'm thinking I need to go lower but I want to wait now until January because to be honest I'm just plain tired of being in a deficit. 127 is really good and I don't care about the…

I am also 5'3" (52 years old) and my first goal was 138. When I got there I had to adjust because I was still not looking how I wanted to look. I kept going. Now I am at 127 and I'm in maintenance. I'm in a size 2 in woman's pants now (that was NOT my intention BTW....I just wanted to be around 4/6/8 in clothes). Get this…

Awesome Tootsie!!! Congrats to you as that is a huge accomplishment. I've only just started and I hope it goes well!
-
Hope I can do as well on maintenance as you. I'm fearful of getting fat again since it seems to be a statistic :) Good Job not adding yourself to that! Edited to say that I love your doggies. I have a maltese. Is that what yours are?
-
Great question as I am about to go on maintenance and do not want to screw up all this hard work! I'm scared. I will be anxiously awaiting more replies to this thread. I am 5'3" and currently eating 1218 or so calories per day so 300 calories to me seems like alot more calories and I don't want to gain.
