I am 5'9.5" and 156 at this time. I am down 19 pounds so far from last year. I am hoping to reach my goal of 140 by this Oct. I've heard the "Oh you're thin enough." plenty of times. I wish the haters would just close it.

For myself, giving up soda, fast food, and stuff like sweet bakery goods made the big difference for me. I haven't given up the food/drink I truly love, like wine, light beer, chocolate, pasta, and cheese. I just have scaled back the amount I eat & drink on a 1200 calorie diet.

I don't eat cereal or pancakes w/ syrup. The carbs, sugar hit my blood stream quickly and make me sleepy. An hour later, I'm hungry. My usual breakfast is greek style yogurt, with two tbsp of pecans, a slice of wheat toast with a schmear of butter and a half cup of fresh fruit.

I like half and half. No weird chemicals, lower in sugar than creamer.

I haven't been following the macros here. I follow the rules of the Zone diet which I believe is pretty balanced. I have read that fat is necessary for brain health, hair and skin.

I love pasta, bread and rice. I really have watch my carbs. Yesterday I didn't eat my usual toast in the morning. I had 1 cup of barilla pasta (protein added), with red sauce, broccoli and 3 oz. lean chicken. Bread, I don't like most of the store brands. I make my own. I put half of it in the freezer to avoid the…

I'm a 1200 calories a day diet. I eat two slices a day. I eat whole wheat or rye. As toast or as part of a sammie. Bread is not the enemy unless you're gluten intolerant or too tempted to eat the whole loaf.

My unpopular opinions: 1. Current "don't eat gluten" gluten free diet craze. Bread and pasta have been around since ancient times. Eat it moderation like all things. If you are truly allergic to gluten (celiac disease) by all means don't eat it. 2. Those diet plans where they send you the food (ie Jenny Craig). Yes, you…

Hi everyone! I am so encouraged and inspired by the messages I read here. I am 64, 161 lbs, 5'9". I began using MFP last year and lost 15 lbs using the Zone diet. I have 15 more pounds to go. I'm eating 1200 calories (ocassionally a little more or less). So far I am losing about 2-3 pounds a month. I do a lot of cooking at…
