  • I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and I have been able to lose weight. I take synthroid daily to help maintain my thyroid levels, but getting my diet together was crucial with this disorder. If you want to add me I will share any information that I can to help you.
  • have you had any other pain or inability to sleep or extreme exhaustion? This could be signs of a heart attack. Heart Disease is the number 1 killer in women because they don’t recognize the symptoms. The current symptoms they warn women about are the following: being excessively hot, exhausted, in lots of pain (jaw or…
  • Getting plenty of water, strength training, and great lotion will all help to make the skin look better. I have gone from 230 to 147 in the last 3 yrs, with a majority of the loss in the last 8 months. You need to be patient but the strength training really helps to allow the muscles to hold the skin more taught.

  • I love hearing that I'm not the only one lifting. Today I was able to bench 155 lbs for 4 reps with the help of my trainer. Also, my measurements are all getting better and I'm down to 22% body fat. Today was an excellent workout! I just wish I could find other women who lifted at my gym.
  • I think you should find a weight that will be challenging for you on the last couple of reps. This is tricky at first as many people start some what low until they realize that they are not getting that muscle burning type feeling. It is important to mention that your body will adapt to the weight/stress and you will need…
  • Squat jumps, high knees, and jumping kicking your heels to your butt are all great alternatives that don't require any equipment just space.
  • I lift and I'm in the same boat as there are like 3 other females at my gym who lift too. I have found a good crowd of guys to help me achieve my goals, but I would love the company of another girl.
  • I struggled with this as well and for a while didn't participate in chest day type lifting. This wasn't a good idea as the weight was going to come off there regardless of my not working the chest muscles. I have found since adding back the chest exercises that at least they are perkier even if they are smaller.
  • Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don't. ― Steve Maraboli
  • I have Hashimotos too! I have also been there and done that with low iron, low vitamin d and infertility treatments. I am about 6 lbs away from my goal weight now. I've dropped from 230 to 150 for a loss of about 80 lbs in about 3 yrs struggling with diet and exercise. Currently, I workout almost daily to help keep my body…
  • Calorie deficit is key to losing fat. Strength training, planks, mountain climbers, and high knee type exercises with help you to build up strength in your abdominal muscles. However, I wish to also mention that proper hydration and using lotions with AHA can help the skin to repair itself over time. Between having babies…
  • I too agree that unless you've suffered a true injury you should try to get back to your workouts as scheduled. I have found that getting the muscles working, even when sore, seems to lessen the lingering DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
  • I too have noticed the same thing! It seems like I'm in an endless cycle of working out and "feeling good" and then wanting to workout some more. I have also noticed that I feel a bit more assertive too. This seems like it is probably due to testosterone too. However, I'm just choosing to enjoy both as an added perk to…
  • deadlifts, abs on the decline bench, squats, reverse lunges with 50 lbs, abs in the Roman chair, spider crawl/lizard hops, and my all time favorite burpees.....
  • OP I recently read something and when I saw your post and it felt like the encouragement you need to hear. "Fear is nothing more than an obstacle that stands in the way of progress. In overcoming our fears we can move forward stronger and wiser within ourselves." So my advice is to just try it a few times so that you can…
  • I understand exactly what the OP is most likely saying. My experience is that men/boys seem to fall into one of three categories:1) the guy who treats you based on your ability to contribute to the team. Although this guy is hard to find he is definitely my favorite on all teams I play on as he pushes me to achieve more.…
  • I will admit that I was prego and weighed in a 230 just prior giving birth. However, I was still at 215 after giving birth, and I took almost no pictures of myself due to feeling uncomfortable about how big I was. It took about 6 months to get just under 200 lbs. The last picture I took was the other night and I'm about…
  • My trainer has confirmed that he is actually trying to "kill me" with a great workout. I have to admit that I am getting in the best shape of my life. He really puts me through the ringer so to speak with cardio and strength training. Sometimes I have to admit to him that I'm not sore after our like 50 minute session of…

  • I share your pain, and I understand that feeling. Tomorrow will be a better workout!
  • 290 sounds amazing! Gotta love girl power!
  • Don't get discouraged by DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness for newbies) this will go away and you will be left with great muscles :D
  • This is in a seated position so that I could make sure the suit covered all important bits! I gained a ton of weight during pregnancy and I'm not fully sure I can fix it all. However, it is getting better. Almost all the angry red stretch marks are faded to the white less noticeable ones.
  • It hides a bit low for this suit. I guess I am thankful for that, but I took another one in a different position.
  • I have reset my goal weight down about another 5 lbs to see if I can get my stomach to look a bit better. I too have a little bit of that lower pouch loose skin thing happening.
  • You're awesome!
  • Yirara, I dl at 205 currently but I want to get to 225. I am slowly making progress towards this goal.
  • I hope I don't totally spaz out and drop this, trip, fall, or otherwise like like a total idiot by not completing this bench press/squat/deadlift/hip thrust and so on. My two left feet try to get me into trouble all the time. Additionally, it feels like everyone is watching me waiting for me to fail. Then I just get over…
