I think, and this is JMHO, that the clean eater would lose more in the long run because they are eating enough protein to maintain lean muscle mass. If you are losing muscle and fat equally, you're metabolism is going to slow down

I can't eat empty carbs any more without taking a nap afterwards! I'm 1/4 of the way to my goal, but now that I eat healthy out of habit, if I have to eat something fried (I was working the snack bar at little league and forgot to bring food) It just kills me! I would rather be hungry

I also discovered that when going out with friends, if you announce your intentions (eat a salad, skip dessert, whatever) you will be far more likely to stick to your goal, and your friends will support you (if they don't you need new friends)

Try swapping some of your calories from starch to fruits,veggies and proteins, and drink tons of water. It's good that you are dropping inches, so if you stick with it eventually you will see a difference on the scale too
