Just sent you a friend request if you care to follow until 300 and beyond. :-)

Great work! Be honest is the first of five areas I feel are keys to success in a journey toward health. Excellent work!

Thank you for your support! During the next 150 days, I'll cross my first major goal of 75 pounds lost. By Christmas, just past 300 days, I'll be close to my 97 pound goal for the year. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Permission granted! Any progress is good progress, regardless of the speed. A runner friend once told me, "Forward is a pace." It's the same in the journey to better health!

Amazing job! Awesome work.

I never "cheat". I don't like the word, as I think it carries a negative connotation. I splurge occasionally and work it into my calorie plan if I can. If not, I enjoy the splurge and move on. I'm eating at a level that's maintainable long term, and splurge meals are going to come along from time to time. No more guilt. No…

Nice work! Keep it going!

Request sent.

First of all, welcome to MFP! Some of the information here will start you on a path to a lifetime of health. Losing 100 pounds is very daunting. I've been down the same road a couple of times and offer a couple of pointers: Set smaller, shorter term, reasonable goals. You didn't gain 100 extra pounds overnight, and it's…

I love that plate storage rack! I may need to build something like that.

Via Craigslist, I found a bench and 300 pounds of weights for a steal. I added some 25 pound plates and a curl bar from Play it Again Sports for less than $100. I added another 200 pounds of weights, again found on Craigslist for a steal. Treadmill was of good quality, $1500 new. This year, I added a new rack and bench for…

We don't have kids, so when we finished our basement, we made a dedicated exercise room. The treadmill is behind the viewpoint of the photographer. The elliptical was recently sold.

I walked 110 miles in May and 117 miles in June. 60+ pounds lost this year and not really slowing down. I do a bit of strength training, but most of my exercise is walking. And yes, my cardio health is definitely improved. Resting heart rate began 70-72 and is now in the mid 50s!

The only time I get headaches when working out are when I'm dehydrated, but they're different than the headaches you're describing. Definitely sounds muscular as others have suggested.

To agree with other posters, bacon is definitely underranked. More disturbing about bacon is saying it's not processed.

I log exercise every day and keep my diary as accurate as possible. I'll hit 150 days on this journey next week and have no plans to stop--ever. Please feel free to add me if you'd like.

As a numbers geek as well, I've accepted I'll likely be logging forever. I might not always measure lower calorie foods (most fruits and vegetables), but I'll always be conscious and weigh higher density foods--nuts, peanut butter, cheese, etc.
-
What are your goals? If you're trying to lose weigh, set it at lightly active, log your calories and activity as best you can and see how things look in a few weeks. If you're losing weight at an acceptable rate, it's probably the right setting. If you're trying to maintain weight, set it at active and log your calories…

I'm certainly not suggesting the science in this article is accurate or not, but it was at least mentioned in a pseudo-science setting. I take Zyrtec every day all year and haven't noticed any issues with weight loss. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/health/allergy-side-effects

Or measure out how much you're cooking raw and measure it again cooked. Pork would likely lose 30-40% of its raw volume via cooking. If you measure 4oz raw, it'd likely be 2.5oz cooked, but the ratio can be calculated based on total weigh raw vs. total weight after cooking. Chicken follows pretty closely to 8oz raw=5oz…

The rowers your gym has are likely Concept2 machines, as they're the most widely recognized and most reliable. I wouldn't worry about your ARM workout, but if you row with proper form, it's killer for your legs! It's truly a wonderful machine. I'd recommend studying form a bit. People complain that rowing is bad for your…

Good answer. :-) I always, always try to err on the "over" side when logging, as there's no reliable weigh to count calories burned via activity.
-
Technically, that's correct (net weight of fruit consumed=total weight minus remaining stone weight). Personally, I believe this is overkill, as we're never able to be perfect in our logging. The same peach isn't going to have the same nutritional characteristics grown on a different tree, different region, etc. The USDA…

I've enjoyed tips on logging foods. I've always been pretty accurate, but there have been helpful hints along the way to help in this effort. Also, having the recent items and "you eat this with x" make for easier pre-logging. It's not uncommon for me to at least have a general log of my entire day's foods before I take…

I don't believe in logging cleaning as exercise. Unless you're cleaning now and didn't in the past, it should be considered part of your daily activities and not exercise.

Try shredded cabbage instead of rice in a stir fry.

Your transformation is nothing short of extraordinary! Truly amazing job. Thank you for sharing.
