Good to see you again old friend.

Hard pass.

It's my belief that unless one is measured to be insufficient in vitamin or mineral intake that a diet with a variety of foods often meets micronutrient needs.

I drink Premier Protein shakes for breakfast 5 days/week. This one is definitely on the rotation. It's a tad sweet for me but not so much that I don't enjoy them.

Nope, can't do it.

Only since yesterday.

Wearing my wedding ring for the first time in several years.

Would you believe I actually DID meet George Strait?

Welcome state neighbor!

Doubtful. Anyone else in their late 40s who lost their spouse unexpectedly earlier this year and trying to find any way forward? Sorry to be debbie downer, but I need friends that don't exist. Guess I'll go hiking. It's all that seems to keep me sane.

Similar, but quite a bit different. I'm just barely over the "morbidly obese (>40)" category and look forward to *only* being obese. Baby steps!

It's obvious that one's former lifestyle can't be one's future lifestyle if we're constantly yo-yo'ing on the scale. For things to "stick", the lifestyle changes must become permanent. Set small goals. Find things you can live with. Be consistent.

That beastly hike clocked at 11.1 miles and kicked my butt. But you notice this is written in the past tense. It was nice to check this box Saturday afternoon!

Completing my first ever 10+ mile hike in two weeks.

Haha. This reminds me of a quote in a movie that I love, "This isn't rocket surgery!"

After being fat and happy for many years in a long term committed relationship, I now face the prospect of dating as I approach 50. I know that physical appearance isn't everything, but I'm far from where I'd like to be.

A1C of 6.1 yesterday. First time it's been that low in several years, and I was 40-50 pounds lighter then, so I'm thrilled that my new routine is giving me the lab results that I need!

I certainly support the recommendations noted so far. But I also like to add, not all carbs are created equally. Carefully monitoring your blood sugar levels after eating different items will allow you to determine what carbs cause larger spikes for your body. For me, I'm not sure I'll ever eat a normal pancake again withโฆ

Acknowledge you did it. Ask yourself why? If you can understand the behavior that led you to the binge, try to learn from it. If not, you've still asked. And most of all, move on and don't beat yourself up. Be kind to yourself!

Amazing work!

Such a wake up call and such an amazing response. Keep up the excellent work. You should be very proud of yourself; I know you are!

Here are my mules. Emmy, on the left, is a 5 year old boxer-mutt. Rolo, on the right, turned 14 months this week and is a boxer/redbone coon hound mix.

The stalker is strong in this one! (blame the vodka and whiskey and beer!)

But those teeth! Oh wait, are they fangs? Oh, ok, fine.
