The stalker is strong in this one! (blame the vodka and whiskey and beer!)
-
But those teeth! Oh wait, are they fangs? Oh, ok, fine.
-
But you're from snake country...
-
Double fisting snake lady. Definitely nicely naughty!
-
I'm not as new as I may appear, but I appreciate the warning.
-
Oh, hell, what did I get myself into?
-
You're suggesting I double fist the drinks. What can I get for you?
-
Wondering if I should have a bit more vodka or the last of a bottle of whisky.

Set your alarm. Get out of bed. Feet on floor. Tell yourself how lucky you are that you GET to workout, not HAVE to workout. Build a routine.

Beautiful! Such pretty country!

To piggyback on your awesome message, "Be Kind to Yourself!"

The best routine I've found during pandemic and some horrible personal tragedy recently is to shower, shave and dress each morning as if I'm going to the office. And then hit the home office for the workday. First ever selfie from the work webcam. LOL

I sometimes think similarly to this. It's more of a "I'm thankful I'm healthy enough and have the opportunity to work out!"
-
Such amazing work. Never discount how hard you've worked for your own personal success!
-
It sounds like you've encountered quite an ordeal that no one should have to face. Your attitude, however, is spot on. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Thank you for the kind words. Last week was one of the more challenging weeks so far, but today seems to be starting off better. Like everything we do, it's just constantly trying to find a path forward!

In the past, I've seen this type of challenge myself. I almost wonder sometimes if it's the fear of success. We know how hard we've worked to get to where we're at, and for me, I think at least to some extent, I'm worried I won't be able to maintain those efforts on a longer term basis.

I want to give hugs without fear. I want to shake hands. I want to not be paranoid if someone coughs or sneezes. I want to fly on a place without a mask. I want normal back, as boring as it might have been! I want to reschedule the canceled trip to Europe.

Such a great story!

For me, developing new routines has been tremendous. And when the brain kicks into the old ways, I really try to understand the emotion that's driving that decision. Keeping a journal can be helpful. Not having junk food in the house is one of my first small victories. Please feel free to add me if you like.

Nuts and fruits provide valuable nutrition. I would recommend accounting for them and other things you like to eat into your daily calorie and macro targets.

Be consistent. Don't beat yourself up. Keep moving forward.

I don't log regularly at all--food nor exercise, but I do try to post encouraging tidbits regularly and try to make specific comments on posts and such. Please feel free to add me if you'd like.

You're doing awesome. Keep your eye on the prize. What you're facing now is the 2nd hardest part--reaching the finish line. The hardest part is maintaining the new lifestyle you've created. Keep focused on what's got you here. Continue to look forward, and you'll meet all of your goals!
-
Set small goals. Learn some of the tools that will help guide your process (logging, food scales, etc.). Be consistent. Don't beat yourself up. Be kind to yourself.

I make this type of "correction" every time I can when someone talks about a cheat meal. If that's part of your plan, don't cheat, splurge. Cheat has such a negative connotation!
-
Hello Joan, you've certainly been through a lot. Taking account of all of them and shifting the focus to YOU is a huge first step. Just set small goals and advance forward one step at a time. Forward is the key!

If you're a reader, "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink is really eye opening. It's not specific to emotional eating but certainly offers a lot of suggestion and reasoning for how we sometimes approach food. The gum, zero calorie drinks and exercise are all suggestions I'd offer myself. Jotting notes for yourself when…
