@williamsl3025 For you first post, you sure set a high bar! Amazing work!

The best advice you will hear is to be consistent. You're also going to be asked how carefully you're measuring what you're consuming. It sounds like you're taking the right steps and will likely just require some fine tuning to achieve the success you're seeking. Best of luck!

Your attitude it amazing! And that's a big part of your success. Keep up the great work!

Glad you're ok. Your commitment to yourself is clear. Keep up the great work!

I'm really trying for this not to come across negative, and if it does, I apologize in advance. If you're facing burn out, you may be approaching health and well being from the wrong angle. The best step toward permanent improvement is setting small goals that help you reach your target. If you're burning out, these small…

@JaxxieKat You've had a tremendous amount of success in the past, so you KNOW how to do this. I'd encourage you to think about how all of that success made you feel and try to incorporate that knowledge into some goals to help get you headed back in that direction. Like you, I've lost a lot of weight in the past but have…

I only have one more pound to lose. Only one more pound to lose this week. And then it's on to next week, where I have one more pound to lose. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Let's see how this goes for this year.

You seem to be in the right place. Accountability can certainly go far in reaching your goals. Establishing a consistent routine and forming the good habits you suggest are certainly the key to long term success. Good luck!

You've done an amazing job and have made incredible progress. Keep up the awesome work!

Cheat day. Cheat meal. Whatever works with your goals and motivation system. I do prefer, however, to refer to these as "splurge" meals or days. Cheat has such a negative connotation!

Kelly, your story is truly inspiring. The commitment you've made to yourself is truly impressive. Congratulations and keep up the awesome work!

One day at a time says it best. If you slip up, just start again on the next meal or the next day. Keep up the great work!

Thank you all for the kind words. Building a good routine has really been helpful. With my birthday coming up next week and Valentine's Day around the corner, I'm happy to be heading to visit my parents this weekend. Getting out of dodge seemed like a good idea, and traveling home on 2/14 seemed like a good way to help…

3/3 for AF during the week this month. I've been trying to coordinate a bit of a guy's night out for a while, and tonight is the night, so I'll break my rule. But since I'll be driving, it'll be a 2 beer night. In addition to AF as planned, meals have still been as planned as well. Better choices every day. Keep up the…

I'd say you're far from lazy. Great job!

Mini goals are a great way to build healthy habits! Logging meals, healthy or not as healthy will definitely give you a baseline as you progress through this journey. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for your suggestion. At a minimum, I get the dogs out for a mile or so every day. I started back to work last week, so that routine is helping. Though working at home instantly became more difficult. For now, I'm just trying to establish a good routine and building a bit as I can.

A couple of things: You didn't fail, you gave yourself an opportunity to try again: "How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison replied, "I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps." and Muhammad Ali: “There's nothing wrong with getting knocked down, as long as you get right back up.”

I'm glad to see this forum still going after all this time. I've participated in the past with varied success. I haven't been on MFP boards at all recently, but I'm really focusing on trying to make better choices. My biggest goal right now is to be AF during the week. Limiting alcohol on weekends is something I'm planning…

I stuck exactly to my planned meals so far this week and will go 2 for 2 in not drinking during the week.

Welcome, Angi. You've got an awesome outlook. Keep up the great work!

I'd love some new friends, particularly if they've suffered a tragic loss of a loved one. I'm struggling to pick up the pieces after my 45 year old wife tragically passed away recently. For now, I'm really focusing on trying to establish a good routine again and just find a path forward. Friends who have experienced…

The only way most people find long term success is to start making small changes to your lifestyle that you can maintain long term. Be realistic in your goals and be consistent in your efforts.

Don't cross your fingers and wish things will go well. Make a commitment to yourself and be consistent in efforts toward your goals!

You may want to try some greek yogurt based ranch dressings. They're typically significantly fewer in calories. And regardless of what you choose, weigh out a portion that fits within your plan and don't eat more unless you log it.

Yeah, after rejecting the first time. :-P

Been there, done that.

Accept. I like otters.
