There's nothing wrong with going with a frozen meal + some veggies! I picked up an Igloo brand lunch bag that does an AMAZING job of keeping food chilled, even when the bag is sitting out in a room. You could likely just leaver the bag in the car until you get to the location where you plan to eat. ~Lyssa

Are you currently nursing your little one(s)? If so, some women find it to be really difficult to lose weight while nursing. How long ago did you give birth? It can take a while for hormones, etc, to level out, too. ~Lyssa

There's often a delay before data shows up - I usually give it at least 15 minutes. Have you been using it since Christmas and it's worked OK until now? Or are you just now syncing up with MFP? ~Lyssa

How much creamer are you adding to your coffee? And what brand of coffee are you drinking? I spend about 40 calories on my two cups of coffee. Totally worth it! You may want to try flavored coffees or a different brand. ~Lyssa

After my first half, my knees ached and the arch of my left foot was pretty sore. Walking didn't seem to aggravate any of it, so I made sure I kept myself moving throughout the day. I waited until the left foot stopped hurting before I went out for a nice, easy 5k. The knees were done aching within 2 days. Epsom salt baths…

This is so great to hear! I'm glad you've got some new tools to help you on your journey. Keep on trucking! ~Lyssa

If you have access to a pool, you could see about doing some water aerobics or even just walking. The water takes some of the weight off your joints and could mean you could be a bit more active. ~Lyssa

Absolutely could be your SAD. What are you currently doing to manage your symptoms? I've ultimately found an anti-depressant to be the most helpful - it gets me about 2/3 of the way to my usual self. From there, it's various self-care things, like a consistent bedtime routine, yoga at night, some sun when possible. January…

Around 10 years ago, my mother finally found success losing weight by buying 100 calorie packs of snacks and keeping a lot of family-size bags foods out of the house. The pantry was slowly taken over by these things. I wasn’t a fan, but there were still plenty of things I enjoyed so it wasn’t a big deal. A more pressing…

I'm seeing the same discrepancy you are. I recently switched from a Fitbit Blaze to an Apple Watch. I wore both for one day to see how my steps and calorie burn compared. I figured if there was a dramatic difference, something with the Apple Watch may have needed addressing. I do not currently do any workouts other than…

What activity level are you set to? ~Lyssa

My first (and only so far) half was done with my longest run being maybe 9 miles before that, and I did 2 shorter runs during the week. I had my mom with me - she helped a lot with pacing myself - and I felt great at the end. So....yes, you can probably do it, but be prepared to go slower. Check out Hal's website and look…

I had a discount code and got the Aria 2 cause I'm lazy and don't like manually logging my weight ;) The Aria 2 has newer wifi hardware so should connect more easily; the first gen one used some pretty old technology, which is likely why people had issues with it syncing. I quite like my Aria 2, but I did keep my old scale…

I think this is really good advice. I just have myself and a cat to look over, but I've definitely used this kind of a strategy to budget my time at work. You may find it helpful to write down your day and mark out the things that are truly not negotiable, like the amount of time you spend getting to/from work & at work…

Creamette makes a 150 calorie pasta with 13 grams of Fiber. I find it tastes no different than their regular. If you're looking to get a little more "bang" for your calorie "buck," I really like red lentil pastas. Similar calories to regular, but a bit of protein and more fiber. ~Lyssa

I hate the idea of going to a gym myself and got rid of my membership. Is working out at home an option for you? I know some people will just pace inside their homes. My place isn't large enough for that to be worthwhile, but I have a bike on a trainer downstairs. What about getting a trainer for your bike, buying an…

1400 isn't much for me - but to each their own! You can eat whatever you like as long as it's within your calories. Keep in mind that eating out can contribute more to fluctuations/slow losses - there's less of a guarantee that the employees are using the advertised amounts of sauces vs. you making something at home (so,…

Being on the shorter end myself, I think 1400 is a decent starting point. How do you track your steps? How often do you plan to weigh yourself/take measurements? I would pay close attention to how you're feeling, and aim for 1lb/week of loss at most. ~Lyssa

If I'm going out for lunch, I try to make sure I go lower on calories for breakfast to help offset the higher calorie lunch cost. Subway has a nice nutrition calculator on their site - you could go there and experiment a bit to see what fits best. Sauces will be the big variance there, and you may want to consider asking…

I would wait until you feel good enough to go about your normal day without being tired or taking any medicine before you work out. And avoid going to the gym until you've been symptom-free for a week or so - sharing germs isn't good! ~Lyssa

If you're exhausted like that, perhaps some medical tests are in order? Some vitamin deficiencies, as well as an underactive thyroid, can cause tiredness. ~Lyssa

I'd see a physical therapist - or a few, if you don't get much help from the first one. They may have some other suggestions for stretching or other ways to manage the sciatica. ~Lyssa

I use sucralose & my mom likes to use Swerve. I've eaten some of her desserts and, while Swerve doesn't taste like sugar to me, it's still a good substitute, and I don't find it has an aftertaste. Stevia is a no for me - just leaves a bad taste in my mouth!! ~Lyssa

I don't put any liquid in with my chicken breasts. Some salt and pepper and then I cook on low for at least 6 hours. They shred very nicely then! I often make a crock pot meal when I'm home the first few times - then I can check on it throughout the day and see how it's doing. Once I've got the timing sorted out, then I'll…

Glad you're moving out - ugh! What a terrible thing to do. If it was me, I would tell him he's on his own for food - you'll cook for yourself and if he's hungry, he can buy his own or whatever. WTF? ~Lyssa

I can't speak for anyone else, but I tend to eat before heading to a holiday gathering because I tend to eat my meals early (lunch is often at 11am, dinner around 5pm) and I don't want to be starving. I'm less likely to go for the munchies (crackers & cheese, chips and dip) that are often present and wait for the main…

You should be able to change your Fitbit to account for the lack of activity (sort of). By default, it tries to guess your activity for the rest of the day based off your activity so far. You can switch to Sedentary and see if that changes the calorie info.…

Communicate that information to Fitbit - hopefully that will get them to replace it for you. I'm also assuming you put brand new batteries in it when you mentioned changing the batteries? ~Lyssa

Setting aside the issue of the scale giving a different weight for you...what happens when you put something of a known weight (ie: a 10lb dumbbell) on each of the scales? I would expect some difference there, which would then help determine which scale is closest to your actual weight. ~Lyssa
