I spent years of my life being the woman eating a doughnut for breakfast and chicken strips and fries or something other fried food. I got fat, I felt terrible, I looked at the people who made healthy choices all around me and wanted to be like that but felt out of control. I wasn't healthy in action, body or mind and it…

The majority of people here, even those like myself who have a history of binge eating and bulemia just are not qualified to help you with this. It isn't some lack of will power on your part. There isn't a magical series of actions someone will advise you of over the internet that makes this cycle stop. It isn't your fault…

Yeah! I eyed the bananas and almost added them. Next time...

I grill my roasts. Talk about smokey delicious flavor. I season the roast beef (or pork) and rub a little oil on it. I sear all sides over the hot coals to seal in juice. Than I move it away from the coals, stick my grill thermometer into the center. (It has a lead to the electric part outside the grill so I can watch temp…

I kept thinking about making a rhubarb pie. I always do in the spring...but I end up eating the whole thing over a few days and that is not how I want to spend my calories. This was such a great compromise and *so* delicious and filling.

Any chance of making some shelter dog happy by giving him a home where he gets to go on runs and your injured dog gets a buddy? Your fear isn't irrational.

Breakfast. 8 am Snack. 11:15 is Lunch 1 pm Snack 4 pm Dinner 7pm Some days snack at 9 pm This varies in time because my lunchs and breaks vary. Also 2-3 days a week I get up at 5 am and swim laps, then ride into work with my boyfriend so those days I eat breakfast really earlier.

This saying was popular among the "don't eat before bed because your metabolism slows while you sleep and anything you still have in your stomach goes straight to fat" fad. That logic has been debunked. It doesn't matter what time you eat your foods as long as you are at a daily deficit. That said, if eating a large…

I just ate one of those for dinner tonight :) I tasted decent, was reasonably healthy. ...and fit the real requirement of being fast, high protein food after my work out.

Same here... live in Iowa so I only eat it straight from the field and in season

Grain/seed corn is fed to cows, in massive quantity and not to make them fat...fat cows are much less desirable than muscular ones. Sweet corn is fed to humans. If you go out into a field in the fall and try to eat both a raw cob of sweet corn, and one of feed corn you will quickly feel the difference.

Healthy for me, and fit into my daily goals. 4.7 oz of chicken roasted with skin, 20 of red fresh cherries Yum!

I think setting a time table for your body to lose weight is almost always unrealistic. Eating healthy and at a deficit, adjusting based on results that are averaged over weeks....expecting gains, losses and plateu ....that is par for the course

It is called propositional logic, and yeah it makes this analogy a poor one. Just because drinking poison and over eating can both lead to death doesn't make them equivalent items in an example. For example: All dogs are mammals. All dogs have 4 legs. Thus, all mammals have 4 legs. This is an example of propositional logic.

Try something with a little carbs and protein. A half banana with 2 tsp peanut butter for example.

I have mfp set to sedentary. I eat my 2 lb a week calories and aproximatly 1/2 of my exercise calories. Over 11 weeks I have lost 2.08 lbs per week. Eating them back at 50% seems to be working well but everyone is different.

I am addicted to food. I feel like I will die without it...oh wait.... No seriously, I think of this as having unhealthy behavioral patterns central around food. But whatever you call it the issues are pretty common.

Snacking is fine. Eating over your calories isn't. The water tip is a good one. I replaced 2 snacks with glasses of milk and that controlled my hunger better. You may just be the sort of person who likes to eat every 3hours. Just don't also try to eat 3 large meals. Keep the calories down and eat protein and healthy…

Maybe try increasing your intake at minimum to your BMR level and seeing if that changes the urge? They say to cut 10-15% of your tdee and not go below your bmr. For you a 1 lb a week loss would be about 1681 calories so 1200-1500 may be low. Eating 10-15% of your TDEE would put you between 1850-1960 in calories. That…

What is your TDEE and BMR? When I cut too hard it leads to binging. Sometimes binging is caused by lots of other psychological factors. If you actually have a binge eating disorder behavioral therapy may help.

That kind of relationship dynamic should be based on consent of both parties and a compatibility and preference. If her husband is a man who like to be told what to do and allow her to make his food choices that approach might work. If he isn't nagging, cajoling or whatever gets old really fast and isn't going to result in…

That's nice to say but they may or may not already have good communication. We all know communication is essential for a healthy relationship. I have a hard time believing that they are not communicating about the OPS wishes. It doesn't sound like the hubby agrees with her. He believes she is too "militant", and he comes…

If I witnessed my SO drinking a bottle of poison I would call 911, take it away if I could and use the law to put them on suicide watch. If they were determined to kill themselves I ultimately could do nothing to prevent them. You have a right to feel however you like about his food choices and a right to communicate those…

Just make sure you are eating enough to feel full and sustainable, try not to under consume what it tells you for 2 lb a week loss. I started at 333 lbs, after 11 weeks I am down to 310. That is an average of 2.09 loss per week. I have been very physically active. I eat back half the calories given to me for exercise and…

There is a lot of quality variations in fish oil, many are not fishy smelling and I never heard of someone smelling bad. Mostly people are concerned with taste. Most people take this due to the omega 3 fatty acids you get. It probably won't have any relationship to direct muscle building. However there is some ongoing…

"Healthy" foods that are [or can be] Vegetarian Peanut butter Fruit Vegetables (I love roasted veggies) potato, including the more vitamin rich sweet potato Eggs Dairy products (greek yogurt, low fat milk, cottage cheese, cheese, etc) seitan - I like to make my own tofu Of course the real key is to track calories. I figure leaving it open lets us share ideas. It isn't their place to judge me and if they tried I would delete them. Thus far everyone is supportive.

Work? Work to do what.... hydration? Complex math problem solving?

Oh yeah, those are good ones.
