The OP didn't ask for a critique of how much wine she drinks. She is a grown up so let's leave that to her. I think "banking" weekly calories is absolutely fine. Lots of people do it and it has been a part of Weight Watchers plans for a long time now.

That's terrible :(
-
Lol! Exactly!
-
Yeah, that's probably sound advice.

The issue here is not, "is she being ogled". The issue is the article saying she should not dress in form fitting clothing because it is "distracting". It also seems to assume a woman who dresses this way is motivated by a desire to provoke sexual response not by a desire to wear what is comfortable and they like.
-
X2 Your choice to sexualize a woman for wearing form fitting clothing should not be her problem. If you find her body attractive, glance and enjoy and keep working out while not being obtrusive in any way. The other night when I observed some very attractive young men at the gym wearing almost nothing (short tight shorts…

Unfortunately there is always a new bench tester to replace them. ;)

I think it's great you are good at estimating. I think my sense of perspective is broken through long training. I grew up in a fat family who owned a restaurant and equated food to love. I remember my family telling me they didn't understand why I was fat because I didn't eat that much. My diet at the time was mostly fried…

Yes, I think measuring and knowing what you are eating creates better future judgment. I am already getting better about it. This is a good post!

Unless you have a metabolic disorder like insulin resistance, are diabetic or like to eat this way this advice doesn't really apply. Low carb is helpful to some but not "the one true way" for all. Ultimately most people do best with a calorie in calories out mentality. Healthy foods have other physical advantages other…

You need to alter your expectations not your actions. Weight loss just isn't fast or easy (particularly close to your goal.) As others have said, you are doing really well to get a 1 lb loss per week. Many people lose slower than that
-
Ironic You get to express your opinion of "the argument" but everyone else should keep their opinions about it offline?

I love making chickpea and lentil curries and they are so easy to make flavorful and low calorie. The Ramen sounds lovely, I have been using my own bone broth to make egg drop soup a lot lately. (Sounds stupid but I live for a simple delicious bowl of egg drop soup and finding the perfect balance of flavor is challenging)…
-
Yeah, she really just said that
-
Count everything that has calories  Try to be as accurate as possible. Many people use a food scale with good results.
-
x2 on the annoying recipe builder. It isn't that user friendly at all. The only thing I miss about weight watchers online is I found their recipe builder much more useful and user-friendly.
-
Then he should say that. Words have meaning and from his 2nd response I suspect he was being just as condescending and judgmental as it sounded.

I am a big foodie (literally, but I am getting smaller all the time! ) I love cooking healthy recipes now. I am trying to use my culinary powers for good! That said, most of my calories came yesterday from eating 2 creme brule. (Isn't that terrible?!) My boyfriend's mother loves my creme brule and requested it and somehow…

I didn't hear anyone saying they have a drinking problem. I heard people saying enjoying alcohol on the weekends makes it hard to eat at a deficit those days. (Many were saying it puts them at maintenance for 1-2 days) Or perhaps you were not calling them alcoholic and that is all the "problem" you meant?
-
It sounds like you are doing a good job and what you are doing is working for you. If you are eating very healthy, no bread, no treats 1200 may be doable. The OP asked, however, how people fit other foods in while keeping on track with sustainable weight loss. It is true that if you are going to eat 1200 calories, never…

I take face pics...23 lbs down and there is a noticeable loss of fat in my face. It is different for everyone though.
-
I would put this in the Tech support/need help forum. Better chance there of getting a mfp staff member to read/respond
-
This for me too. I don't drink alcohol every weekend but it is food and some times alcohol that put me into maintenance calories or a little over. I also tend to be super physically active and do a lot of formal exercise but it just doesn't make up for it. Meh. I am losing over all.

I *really * like the little bit of extra food that cardiovascular earns me. Even if it ends up being an extra piece of fruit or a fiber one bar I want that every day. I still take about 1 day off a week but all the other days I do 30-60 mins of cardio. I have not started weight training because I just started swimming laps…

Boo Enlightened! (Just kidding! I hope you have fun! )

Don't worry about it, do a little googling on cholesterol and you will see what people mean by the guidelines changing on eating cholesterol. Keep eating your eggs and lean meats. I ignore my cholesterol rating on MFP.

Chips and queso, (the nice white kind), a chili relleno Or a big plate of chicken tiki masala with Nan bread and basmati rice

Greasy food makes me nauseous now. I used to eat it all the time. Or you are pregnant. ..just kidding (probably)
