  • You Tube workouts! There are so many available for free. I love Dr Sara Solomon's stuff - it's a mix of HIIT and weights.
  • Another vote for Quest bars here. I LOVE them!
  • Awesome!
  • It's higher impact on your joints as you don't have a quishy treadmill so make sure you have good shoes as the above poster says. I like the Nike+ running app, or if you are after something a bit different check out Zombies, Run :o
  • I've heard good things about Sun Warrior from a vegan friend. Has anyone tried the neutral flavor rather than the sweet ones? I'm looking for something to add to savory dishes. Thanks!
  • You look fantastic! Congratulations! :D
  • Hi guys, I'm vegetarian but would love to transition to full vegan in time. Will be following this post.
  • No, but I just wanted to congratulate you on doing a round of Insanity! That's a tough workout!! *whispers* I hated it ;)
  • It's working for you and that's awesome. I can't see that anyone can have a definitive right answer on this as everyone's starting point and goals are different.
  • Same here. Got rid fast! No fat clothes left to fall back on.
  • My macros are similar - 35% protein, 40% carbs and 25% fat
  • Try doing interval training on the treadmill instead. Look up HIIT if you don't know what I mean. Then you can cut down your workouts to 30 minutes and still work out hard. Don't rely on the cals burned stats on the the machines, they really aren't very accurate. You are doing great though. But I agree you need to eat more…
  • Good point about the carbs, I didn't mean to suggest she shouldn't be eating carbs too. I just worry that she's a little confused about why she needs to be eating so much protein if her goal is just weight loss.
  • If you are losing weight, you need to post in a different section. This section is for people wanting to maintain their current weight, which is why I asked so that I could check your goal. So you do want to lose weight? You can change your weight loss goals under settings to aim to lose more weight per week, so the more…
  • Are you trying to build muscle? Are you lifting weights? Or do you feel you need to eat more protein just because your boyfriend told you to? If you do aim to gain muscle, then yes you will need to eat more protein. You can get protein from chicken, turkey, quinoa, non fat cottage cheese, eggs, cheese, tofu etc. If you…
  • You've posted this in maintaining weight? So I assume you are not trying to lose weight. Even if you are trying to lose weight, 1000 cals a day is too few. Never eat under 1,200 cals. You need to work out what your calorific maintenance level is - so use another online calculator if you don't trust the number given to you…

  • I think a 10lb loss in a month and a half is really good!! Slow and steady wins the race. The slower the weight comes off, the easier it will stay off. If only it was as easy to lose weight as it was to gain it, huh? You have obviously lost some fat to see the inch loss, but I doubt you've gained muscle if your exercise…
  • Hey, it's tough when you start out! But focus on trying to lift heavier weights as you get stronger. Don't stick to the same weights all the time. At the moment I'm trying to lift heavier weights, but lower reps. You will love it once you get into it and see changes in your body. Agree with strozman too to take a look at…
  • There's no such thing as mythical toning. Toning actually means to build muscle and lose fat. Follow the advice given by AJ_G. You need to lift weights, to tone.
  • As others have said, carbs are not the enemy! And the time that you eat makes no difference. In fact I always, always have carbs in my evening meal and I often don't eat until gone 9pm. I still lose weight when I want to.
  • I saw that Fitness Model Jamie Eason has just released a free post-pregnancy program on Bodybuilding.com http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-eason-post-pregnancy-trainer.html Looks like exactly what you are looking for!
  • White chocolate raspberry is my favourite too!
  • Weight goes on faster than it comes off unfortunately! How much do you have to lose? Did I read right that you go to the gym twice a day? In that case how many cals are you eating a day? You might be making the mistake of not eating enough to fuel your workouts.
  • I don't think there's anything unusual about this at all. A lot of people eat the bulk of their calories in their evening meal, and many save up their cals for a cheat meal. As long as you are eating enough, and not too much overall, then it all sounds fine.
  • Okay, I think this is getting way complicated. You want to lose fat and look "toned" right? You can make a lot of impact by just eating well and doing workouts without heavy weights. Forget about squatting with heavy weights for now. You can do squats, sumo squats, lunges, step-ups, kick backs etc. to tone your legs and…
  • Good point! I think there's serious calculation errors all over this one. Most protein bars are over 200 cals just for one.
  • I seriously think you are overestimating the amount of calories you burn. Negative effect of eating so little - I told you in my earlier post - your muscles will waste away. You will become unhealthy, you will have low blood sugar levels, you might end up passing out during one of your workouts. How much weight are you…
  • Sounds to me like you are losing fat and gaining muscle if you are weight training 5 days a week. I know it's hard not to rely on the numbers you see on the scales, but sounds to me like you are doing just fine! 1200 cals sounds low, especially as you exercise so much. You might even want to eat more cals on the days you…
