Hi! Feel free to add me, I'd love some more fitness motivation friends :)
-
Friday mornings work for me, right before the weekend which can sometimes be a little "bad" in comparison to the work week.

They say exercise is supposed to help with cramps and other lady troubles. I think they're full of it!! I make period week my flexibility week and just work on stretching.

I love the spiralizer for making noodles out of zucchini (or any hard veggie or fruit). They are delicious raw with pasta sauce or as an addition to a healthy wrap. F

Congrats on making such amazing progress! I'm sorry it took such horrible news to jumpstart your health conscious choices though! I agree with you, successful and long-term weight loss is definitely a lifestyle change. I think you've got the right idea though, calorie counting is no fun but it sure does give you a good…

I find it helpful to fill up on healthy foods and then have a small serving of your naughty food. For example, say you're craving mac & cheese. Don't deny yourself, cause you'll feel cheated and end up binging on it later. But keep in mind that indulging in a big bowl isn't a good choice lol! So I would have a say, baked…

Good luck! It's great that you're taking control, I think MFP is a fantastic resource for helping to get food intake to a healthy proportion. I'm guilty of over-eating and snacking, and have lost a good amount of weight already. You can do it!

I find MFP really helpful in just getting an idea of healthy eating proportions! Using the app has definitely been a bit of an eye opener! Good luck!!

I think the calorie counter part is great for getting a real handle on portion control. I've heard from many people that the exercise portion is useless, it's way too generous with # of calories burned so don't bother using it cause it'll just make you overeat!

I know the feeling! My goal is to go back to my college weight. I've got about 20 pounds that needs to go asap haha! I think that MFP has been a real eye opener to just how much I've been over eating!! Good luck!

Hello! I think your best bet to lose the weight and keep it off in the long run is to do it by diet. Portion control/calorie counting is a huge part of getting the figure you want, and exercise can be the cherry on top. Yoga is great for low impact fitness. I would suggest looking up some beginner's yoga videos on youtube…

Don't be scared! I think that starting with exercise alone is probably not the way to go. To lose weight and keep it off in the long run can only be done with a lifestyle change. My advice would be to calorie count to get a real idea of just how much you're eating in a day. If you have 100lbs to lose it means that you are…

It's definitely all about portions! I love to try everything at parties/buffets, so I try to take just a small scoop of everything that looks good. That way you don't feel like you're missing out, and get a wide and satisfying range of flavors!! Another tip is to start with veggies and then you'll be too full to eat a ton…

I'm the same height as you. I started at around 177 about a month ago, and decided enough was enough and started being more aware of my portion sizes and mindless snacking. I'm currently at 165 and looking to lose another 20 pounds. In my early college years (about 5 years ago) I was about 150 and thought I looked great!…

Honestly, diet is the best place. Make sure you're sticking to your calorie count for the day, and be very honest with your tracker. Maybe later, when you're on a fitness roll then add in exercise. Also, I've heard from dozens of people that the "Exercise" portion of MyFitnessPal and actual cardio gym machines is being WAY…

Oh I know, I feel like it's going to be a disaster when I'm older if I don't pull myself together now while I supposedly have a higher metabolism.
-
Sounds like you've got some good motivation!! haha Good for you for taking the first step here! I've found that some light stretching in the morning has really helped keep me motivated with my diet plan, and my body has definitely thanked me for becoming more flexible. Good luck!

Dang, you weren't kidding that IS a little plate! I can definitely see how that helps though. Having just a little serving of mac and cheese helps keep it from snowballing into a huge craving haha and being able to visualize a healthy serving like that keeps you in check. I think I'll have to browse Amazon for a little…

I think a divider plate is a great idea. I've been using a much smaller plate for my meals so I don't load up my plate just to see it full. I've also been weighing things, it's been helpful to get accurate serving sizes :) I've been seriously decreasing my breads and pasta intake as well. Getting a spiralizer to make…

Hey, I think it's great that you're trying to fix your medical issues with diet before pills. Doctors these days are happy to prescribe for every ailment, when many issues can be fixed with food alone. If you haven't already, you've gotta check out the awesome documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead on Netflix. It's my…

Hey good for you, at least you've acknowledged there's a problem and can now fix it! If you take action now, a small consolation is that you never passed 200lb am I right? haha
