Years ago my church group would make a bunch of bag lunches and hand them out to the homeless. There's a group in my city and organizes a RACK activity every other month. In the winter, they fill bags with hats, mittens, etc., and place them in strategic areas for the homeless. It gets really cold during Cincinnati winters…

Oh, oh, oh! I got this one: "I always wanted to pretend I was an architect."

Contact a local orphanage to see if there are any kids you can sponsor for Christmas, get a wish list and buy and wrap gifts for that child/children.

Hailing from Cincinnati here! Feel free to add me if you want. :)

My MIL has always been very good to me. We have different opinions on a few things but have always gotten along well. I have to share one funny story, though. When my husband and I were dating, I was trying to think of a good gift idea for his parents and thought some unusual Christmas ornaments might be cool, so I gave…

Your spouse could get a library card and you could use his number.

OP, you seem rather determined to shoot down every suggestion that people have taken their time to give. I realize that it must be difficult to work within the limitations you have, but I encourage you to reread the suggestions here with an open mind - you might find an idea you can actually use. Also, a thank you to those…

Try stepping out of your comfort zone - throw out a general question at work asking if anyone is interested in walking at lunch (or whenever). You might be surprised and get some responses, and make some new friends in the process. I find walking inside much more tolerable when I have a friend to chat with. It feels like…

Cornquistos! They were like a corn chip outside with nacho cheese or other filling inside - so good! My high school friends and I are now in our 50's and we still talk about them...lol. Oh, and Zantigo's Restaurant - they had the best cheese chilitos and taco burrito's. They ended up being bought out by Taco…

Dumb question about zoodles...do you add them raw to whatever you're eating, or do you sauté them a bit first?

Lots of great advice on here, OP. I'll give a +1 to getting a fixed rate mortgage and to buying a house within your budget. I also agree with getting pre-approved for a loan. It will allow you to act quickly if something great comes on the market, but I wouldn't go for the max you're approved for. Decide whether you need…

You could consider alternating strength and cardio in circuits, like Curves used to do (and may still do - I'm not sure). Or do some jumping in place or jump rope between sets when you are lifting to help keep your heart rate more elevated while lifting.

Way to go! That's awesome - you've really stuck with it. Enjoy the trip back to earth! :)

I'm jelly, but very happy for you. As others said, you give us hope that we can make it through this. In the meantime, I'm getting cramps as we speak. :/

That looks nice, OP. Up-to-date style for fall, and the drapey jacket would help minimize your stomach (my biggest problem area, too!) I think you'd look great in that. Good luck with the engagement photos!

One year, my family and I picked up a large catered Thanksgiving meal provided by our church, brought it to a nursing home, served dinner and mingled with the residents. Some of them had family who had come to visit, some were alone, so we tried to give them special attention. Another year we delivered premade individual…

Thanks for the phytic acid info!
-
@rickinnercirclebet: I've never heard about phytic acid in brown rice before. Can you please explain what it is and why it needs to be removed? Thanks!
-
@Lizakabibbis: Would you be willing to share your recipe for Mississippi pot roast? It sounds delicious?

Check the markdown bins in the produce and meat departments. The produce is usually a little imperfect or very ripe, but if you eat it quickly, you can get some normally expensive items very cheaply. Same goes for the meat department. If you use the meat quickly or freeze it, you can get some great bargains. Good luck!

I just hope you don't fall and get road rash - ouch! ;)

We're in the minority with you, OP. We let them pile up in the sink, then load them into the dishwasher all at once.

My husband wants to buy an RV and travel around the U.S. Assuming we could afford it, I'd love to do that for part of the year, but I'd like to have a permanent home to come back to occasionally.

This happening to me, too. I had a 6-day period, went a week, and then had a 4-day period. And now when I'm "regular", it's about every 23-25 days. I've decided that my ovaries are having a blowout BOGO sale: "Eggs two for one! Come and get 'em while you've still got 'em!" UGH!!! lol

I had just come back from vacation where I had bought a t-shirt with a really cool sunset scene on it. Went camping the next weekend, sitting under a tree with my new shirt on, and bam! D@mn bird ruined my shirt!

Fall would be my favorite season if it wasn't followed by winter.

Awesome - thanks everyone, from the bottom of my technically challenged heart! :)
