Not really paranormal per se, but when my mom passed away, I brought home a peace plant that someone had sent to the funeral home. They normally bloom beautiful white flowers, but this plant never bloomed. Then on the third anniversary of my mom's death, it bloomed one flower. I kinda felt like it was a little hello from…

The Grand Canyon is pretty awesome. I only saw it on tour in a little puddle jumper plane, but it was pretty amazing.

I had a chance in college to co-op in my major, but I thought adding an extra year to my school seemed like too much. Now I realize how much it would've helped me in my career path to have had some experience under my belt when I graduated.

I have over 30 people to buy for - ugh! I like to shop when I can think of something thoughtful to give, but more often than not, I end up wandering around a store aimlessly waiting for ideas to jump out at me. I love to wrap, if I have the time, but not when it's Christmas eve and I still have 10 presents to wrap. That's…

My daughter did a white elephant exchange with some kids at school and her gift was a roll of aluminum foil.

I feel your pain, ReenieHJ! I'm 53 and overweight, trying not to turn into my mother wearing polyester stretch pants, but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to be young, either. Perhaps you could plan a day trip to "the big city" and arrange an appointment with a personal shopper at one of the department stores…

I've been hosting a neighborhood perennial exchange for the past four years. Just hosted it last weekend. I love to garden, but it can get expensive buying plants. I invite people to bring their "extras" and trade them for specimens they might not have yet. Several people asked if they can buy plants because they had…

Saw Muse during their Resistance Tour - they were amazing! I know lots love to hate, but Dave Matthews Band puts on a helluva show! Hubs and I got free tix to Stevie Ray Vaughn with Stray Cats opening for him. We weren't big fans of either, but both shows were incredible. This one is really showing my age...John Denver put…

I used to love going to the tanning bed when I was younger, get a great tan for little effort. And then a few years later, I got diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer. Luckily it was early stage and they got it all, but it could've easily killed me, as it spreads quickly and aggressively. If you spend a lot of time in the…

I was trying to make a left turn into McD's across two lanes of busy traffic. A guy not only stopped in his lane to help me cross over, but watched traffic in the other lane for me to tell me when it was safe to turn. Thanks guy!

I must be living under a rock! (Admittedly, I avoid the news cuz it depresses me). I live in Ohio (Cincinnati), but haven't heard about flooding in our state. Sorry you're going through all this - what area are you in?

Both of my parents passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. We had wonderful hospice workers with them until the end, and many of them said the dying person often waits for the right moment to pass on - they might be waiting for someone to come see them, etc. I'm the youngest of four daughters, and my dad was always…

A friend of mine had one and was very happy with the results. She was very large prior to the surgery and had a lot of back and neck pain because of it. She feels a lot better now.

Yay! Glad you figured it out!

My husband had my daughter out somewhere in public. He had to use the bathroom, and she said "Make sure you wash your hands if you touch your vagina, Daddy!"

DH owns an original string tier machine. He works in the packaging industry. He thinks it's awesome. I think it takes up a lot of space in our garage.

Try doing some volunteer work. Focusing on the needs of others who are in need can make you feel better! Tis the season to pay it forward!

DH and I came home to discover our nextdoor neighbor's house had blown up and one of them was severely burned. A car in the garage was leaking gasoline. Neighbor went down to the garage to check it out, causing the furnace to kick on when he opened the door, thus igniting the fumes and him with them. He survived, thank…

I'm looking forward to a 2-day work week and five days off in a row next week. I seriously need some down time.

Don't be nervous! I've had a many mammograms (high risk due to family history and have had several noncancerous findings). It's uncomfortable, but it only lasts for a few seconds.

woo hoo! Good luck!

Yes, I second seeing a doctor. If he or she determines you are anemic, you might be put on an iron supplement or something else.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and say what's the big deal? I don't understand why people get grossed out by someone trimming a hangnail.
