  • I had my jaw wired shut for six weeks years ago, so I can sympathize about pureed foods - they do get old rather fast. I remember eating some type of baked potato soup that was pretty good. Towards the end I ate a lot of ground up Skyline chili. I'm not sure where you're from or if you've heard of it. It's kind of a…
  • Awesome - great job! If you find your younger self out there, would you look for mine, too? ;)
  • Put a couple of chicken breasts in the crockpot with a can of cream of chicken soup and let it cook on low about 6 hours (or 3-4 hrs on high). Serve over brown rice or whole-grain noodles. The chicken will be tender and fall apart. Easy and delicious!
  • I try to get up at least once an hour to make copies, send a fax, etc. I'll get up and walk to someone's office to talk to them instead of sending an e-mail. Take the steps instead of the elevator. Take a walk during your lunchtime if you have enough time. I'm facing the same struggle - good luck!
  • Wow, that's amazing, Charles! Way to go! You can really see a difference in your waist and midsection, as well as your face. Keep up the great work!
  • When I used to get a 1-hour lunchtime, I used to power walk for about 30 minutes with some of my coworkers. I loved getting exercise in during the day. That way if I wasn't able to work out that evening, I didn't feel so bad, and if I did work out at night, it was a bonus. Unfortunately I now only get 30 minutes for lunch,…
  • Maybe you can set a reminder (like a beep on your watch or something) to go off once an hour, and just get up from your desk and walk a bit to keep your metabolism going a little better, even to go make a copy or something. A quick walk at lunch and taking the steps whenever you can might help, too. My job is also…
  • Not a great weekend for me. Had a few drinks on Saturday. Didn't eat too badly, though. Feelin like crap with a nasty cold but trying to eat decently today. How are the rest of you doing this fine Monday?

  • My biggest stumbling blocks seem to be lack of time and lack of energy. I know that my lack of energy is partially because I'm not eating very well and I need to turn that around. I started working full time about nine months ago and feel like I have so little time between working, housework, taking my daughter to her…
  • Hi folks! New to the group. Became eligible for my AARP card last summer. :) Is there anything I should do on a regular basis with this group? Weekly weigh ins? Goal setting? Or is it mostly motivation and support? I like the way you've all gotten to know each other on a more personal basis and lend support to life issues…
  • Sounds great! Looking forward to it!
  • Hi there! I'm pretty much just starting over, too, (for the umpteenth time) and have a significant amount of weight I need to lose. I seem to be able to start a program and have some success, but then I always backslide into eating too much fast food and junk. I just turned 50 recently and know I need to turn things…
