Welcome! There's so much information out there about how to lose weight. Put very simply, you have to eat at a calorie deficit, but your goal should be to eat as many calories as possible while still losing weight, because who wants to feel like they're starving? I've lost nearly 40 lbs without feeling like I've been on a…

Hi Yvonne! Congratulation on your 17 lb loss! Having a group of people I check in with regularly helped me step up my game and stay accountable; it's a game changer. I love your motto; you're absolutely right. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Sent you a friend request. Maybe we can run the race together. :)

Hi Tara! Deciding to make a change is brave...lots of people are content to stay in their comfort zones. So congrats for that! I sent you a friend request. I hope you find the support and encouragement you're looking for. :)

It might help to know what your current calorie intake is and what you think your calorie goals should be. There's almost always going to be room for the foods you love so long as there's a counterbalance of the other foods you're eating. I've sent you a friend request; I'd love to be a part of your support and help get…

Keep taking it one day at a time! I have days when I feel like I have all the will power in the world to avoid temptation, and other days my will power crumbles at the sight of anything sweet. Happens to everybody. The trick is to make the lifestyle change one that you can sustain for the long haul. I know I can't sustain…

Hi! Being aware of what you're fueling your body with is a great way to start. They key to the whole weight loss challenge, especially when you have a lot of weight to lose, is making changes that you can sustain over a long period of time. If you're anything like me, an extremely restrictive diet won't work long term. Too…

I'm up to the challenge if you are! I sent you a friend request. :)

Girl, you're funny. How did you not have any friends with that sense of humor?!? Friend request sent! :)

Hey, Jill! You can add me to your friends. I lost 45 last year and then slacked off and gained 10 back. So now I'm back at it and determined to hit my goal. I hope you find the support and encouragement you need to keep moving in the right direction!

Great first step, asking for help! Weight loss is tough, but you're definitely not alone. You can add me to your friends! :)

You've done it before; you can do it again! What did you do to be successful last time?

Good for you! My quality of life greatly improved when I finally decided to do the same. Get connected with people that will inspire and support you and you'll be successful!

Welcome! Community plays a big part in your success. Be inspired by others who are working at their goals and overcome obstacles and use that motivation to do the same! I started at 215 and have worked my way down to 177, going for another 30 lbs or so. I let my nutrition and workouts fall to the way-side for several…

Tracking alone really doesn't do it for me. I have to be more proactive than that and plan my day in advance. I know I have 1300-1400 calories to eat, and I want to have macros around 50P/30C/20F. I've discovered that sticking to that and working out at moderate intensity 6 days a week will usually result in a 2 lb loss.…

One thing that has made a big difference for me is planning meals in advance. I know where I'll be, calorie-wise, everyday of the week. Just sticking to the meal plan and working out has yielded a 3-lb loss for me this week. :) Is that something you think you can work in?
-
That's awesome! Training can be a great motivator to stick to it, and it's even better when you have someone there for accountability too.

perkymommy, glad you're finding the support you're needing! How many calories does weight watchers give you?

Welcome back! I was gone for long time too. Back on track for about a week now, and it feels good! Feel free to add me as a friend. :)
-
Hi, Jessie! We're about the same height and weight and have the same goals. :) Feel free to add me!
-
I'm sorry to hear that! I can't relate to your health obstacles, but I had some life happen last October too, and I let it distract me from my goals. I'm just now getting back on track. It's made a huge difference getting involved in a fitness and nutrition support group and having that extra accountability in both my…

Good for you! What kind of goals do you have? I hope you find the support you need to meet them!

You might lose weight for a while, but eventually your body will adapt. Weight loss will slow down and your metabolism will slow down too. Eat at 1200 calories for a week and see what happens... the goal really should be to eat the most amount of calories while still losing weight. You just have to find your sweet spot - a…

Oh, man, do I know that feeling. I found that surrounding myself, even virtually, with like-minded people kept me on track better than anything I've tried on my own. I lost about 45 lbs, but then I stopped checking in and actively participating with my support system, and gained back 10. I've just given myself a fresh…

Hi, katywebb24! Kudos to you for being consistent with your workouts! Are you challenging yourself when you exercise? The body is an amazingly adaptable, so having a variety of exercises day-to-day (cardio, weights, balance, etc) is helpful. Where have your calories and macros been during the time you've tracked your food…

Welcome! You've made an awesome first step- taking the first step! I've got a goal to lose the same amount of weight. Feel free to add me!

I live by If It Fits Your Macros. Not always easy, but a little planning goes a long way! I joined a support group on Facebook that follows IIFYM and I learned a lot about macros and meal planning/prep through a 4-week nutrition boot camp. Feel free to add me as a friend and message me if you want to chat about it. Support…

The key to losing weight is a healthy balance in your macros and staying within your calorie range without starving yourself. Message me if you want to chat about it and feel…
