Temperature was a big help for me too. Room temp or warmer went down better than icy cold stuff. Others it's the opposite- try some different things :) ️glad to hear you're home and doing well!!

I think actually me and Janet have a similar philosophy. I CAN eat anything, but I choose to stay away from some things. But knowing I can have 1/2 c of icecream or a chocolate truffle or bacon etc as long as I hit my macros and balanced diet guidelines makes me a lot more sane. Restriction is a trigger for me, tho many…

Oooo those look good! I betcha they would send you a sample of you emailed them? Or maybe a place like whole foods has them individually? My local one carries their bread I believe

Yup! I stall frequently for about a week at a time. Don't worry it will break. I just try to remember that my eating and exercise behaviors are consistent no matter what- because this surgery was a lifestyle change. Keep on keeping on and the weight will catch up

Oooo thanks I'll check it out

I have! Tho paleo is such a broad category. I tried kind bars (paleo to some, not so much for others) one that was a fig based bar (can't remember the name and they were very high in fructose sugars) and then a jerky type bar called EPIC... Weird at first but then I kinda dug it once I told myself it wasn't supposed to…

What an accomplishment! Great job!

Same happened to me. I think for me knowing I absolutely CANNOT eat things is a binge trigger for me. I worked thru this with my nutrition therapist and knowing that someday I would be able to have those things again (in moderation, in limited quantities) helped ease the mental rebellion my brain staged right before…

Today's the day! Good luck, you will do great. Keep us posted if you can :)

Omelettes, cook proteins in it, make some mayo with it... basically put it on anything that isn't nailed down lol. It's high heat so it's great for cooking. It's a solid but melts at about body temp. Paleo community is allll about it-lots of recipes. Also as a side note... It's great for your skin and TONS of other uses.…

Tinker- I can honestly say that a root canal I had in October was much much more painful than the VSG surgery. I was so nervous the day of, but my surgical team was amazing. You are going to rock this and in a couple weeks will not only be fully recovered but will be feeling better than you did preop :)

Like you said, the sleeve is just a tool. It isn't magic! Weightloss surgery only fixes the biological not the mental. I use mfp for the reasons all stated above and it helps me answer the question "what am I hungry for?" Sometimes seeing that I have eaten 1000 calories and am still "hungry" helps me ask what I really need…

Hi, Wellbutrin user here :) I weaned off prior to surgery because the pills are slow release and giant (can't cut them up). I started ramping them back up post op once cleared for all food. Works exactly the same as preop

Feel free to add me too!

That's awesome! I did a boat pose in yoga- that was my big NSV. Before I couldn't reach back far enough to grab my ankle because there was too much chub in the way. Also my yard still needs some work... You know with all that energy you have ;) ;)

HAHA I get spellcheck problems like that all the time ac7nj  Thanks for the suggestions. I will try quest next!

Beautiful!

Awesome job!!!

You look gorgeous! Cute dress too!

Idk what happened but mfp deleted some of my response... Hope I didn't duplicate this again! Anyways, I agree- best decision I ever made. Not to say I don't have moments of "fat kid tantrums" where I want to eat more than the sleeve allows but that's sort of the point ;) If I can suggest one thing... Get your head straight…

I have been using gene pro protein and I swear by it. Completely unflavored and actually does pretty much dissolve in whatever you put it in. 98 cal for a tbsp scoop, 30 G protein. It has nothing weird in it either- no flavoring, so you could add to whatever. I agree with what others said, prob artificial sweeteners

Awesome!

Congratulations! And don't consider yourself lucky- feel proud! I'm sure it was a lot of hard work :)
-
Thanks! I told them if they didn't approve it I was gonna be in for a coronary lol. I am going to be especially careful to see who else I get a bill from :)

So just got off the phone with Aetna... They screwed up. It thankfully will be paid 90%. I will owe 10% of the negotiated rate (about 2800). I saw the hospital stay may also cost me about $2000 but we will see what their actual bill says first (hopefully... I don't get one!) Such a HUGE relief! I was so mad, I work in ins…

Hahaha happens to the best of us! I double up for fear of the girls making a break for it! While we're sharing funny running stories... When I was younger I was running with a friend and had just gotten over a cold. I was having balance issues but couldn't figure out why. We were running downhill at a good pace and woops…

I take the protonix in the morning... Started that way in the hospital so I just stuck with it :)

This was awesome! I have always been in awe of your loss (130 lbs is about what I have to lose) and seeing your loss makes my own seem do able. I love your advice and couldn't agree more with the center excellence comment. I love my surgical team! I need to be more adventurous and venture out in the main forums (they…

I get that sort of feeling when I'm hungry (yup I'm a lucky person who never lost their appetite). A bite of food/drink and I'm good. Also my doc puts us on protonix for 90 days after surgery. I put it off one morning till the afternoon and regretted it!

Woweee! You look fab!
