  • Kudos to you for having the courage to share. I admire this place and the people on here to show the reality of weight loss surgery- the wonderful, the good and the challenges. I think that you have a great plan, attitude and support on here. You got this!
  • Hi! Feel free to add. Was sleeved 2/16- best decision I have done for myself (other than marrying my wonderful husband). How do I feel? Fantastic! Down almost 50 lbs from my highest weight, less pain, more energy. Not going to lie though, mentally the first few weeks were pretty rough. Physically it was a breeze. Think…
  • Ppi = protein pump inhibitor (acid Reducer) Mine is protonix :)
  • Good luck! I think waiting and doing the pre op was the hardest! We're all here for support!
  • Somewhere between an elephant heart and a bale of hay- this is so fun!
  • Yup I have had it too... Hard to explain, but my mother in law is very well meaning but now is just very strange with me. I am very private about the surgery (save a few close friends and family) so I think she feels like she shouldn't ask questions, but I told her I'm an open book. LOL she just keeps hugging me like she…
  • I too get migraines. My doc said once in a while is okay. Silver lining is since I started this journey I have only had one and one NSAID did the trick (I used to take 3-4 or prescription before)
  • Hi! I too had surgery 2/16. Water for me is absolutely no problem. At first like others said you sip, sip and sip some more. I think I sipped slowly more because I didn't know my body yet (caution isn't a bad thing post op). Now, if I'm sitting up straight/ standing/walking can get a 16 oz glass of clear liquids down…
  • Love the feeling of new jeans! Go you!!!
  • About 5 weeks out and about 800 cals. Almost all protein. Nut wants me to be at 1000 and 60-80 G protein in whole foods (no shakes or bars) eventually... She has me at 6 small meals a day (100-150 cal each) which def helps with energy and hunger. Long term goal is endurance training so that may be why she's bumping the…
  • I'm in the same boat... I have 3 weddings this summer and no clue what or how to size the dresses for them! SUPPOSEDLY (and to others point... It's a crap shoot) every 10 lbs is a size once you get to "straight" sizes. So I agree 1 size smaller than now will give you some wiggle room and could still feasibly be altered
  • Agree with the rec of adding resistance. A couple of year ago pre op I worked with a trainer doing circuit training. The circuits usually were 45 min with warmup/cool down but the 30 min of workout was quick, kinda fun and burned cals like crazy. Also, muscle raises your bmr so you burn more even just sitting. Just a…
  • What a great milestone! Awesome job!!!
  • Congratulations! Hope you have a very normal, perfectly average weekend ;)
  • Thanks for this! Love the philosophy of eat and train instead of diet and exercise :) sounds so much more bad *kitten* and it just flipped this whole thing on its head for me  Also, I'm 3 days shy of my 1 month surgiversay... Just pluggin along, 16 lbs since surgery. 38 lbs overall. Yup I'm a turtle but I also…
  • You can add me too! I'm about 4 weeks out Oops just realized I already posted!
  • Agree with Ayla! My surgeon gives you a ppi when they discharge you from the hospital no matter what for the first month. I missed it by accident and it made a huuggggeee difference. Felt hungry/nauseous and just not good. Also, my nut said eating 5-6 times a day is a good habit now and later on because it helps build a…
  • Thanks everyone. I have my post op tomorrow so I am going to mention it. It's an odd thing, if I'm standing or walking I can drink clear liquids like no body's business. When I sit it's like gravity no longer applies. It had been getting better (ironically right after I wrote the post) but better to be safe than sorry
  • Congratulations!!!! Hope to join you there soon! :)
  • I too have struggled with this. All the people who truly matter in my life have been super supportive so far. I know I made the right decision for me for sure. Like many others, my problem was never losing weight, picking the right foods or even exercising (as much as someone can at 280+/-) my problem was the INSANE hunger…
  • Hi! I am a week post op, I added everyone above too! Thanks and congrats to all being sleeved! :)
