  • I hear you on the trigger food issue. I don't keep junky food in the house, mostly because the junk goes down easy. For me it's not really the "what" that triggers me, it's the "how much". For example I go wild on crunchy carby things because I can- I was always a volume eater pre op... I ate generally healthy just way too…
  • I just rock whatever I want at this point. I am not skinny. Do I have flab? Yup! Bat wings? Sure do! But you know what? Life is short, and if others don't love my body they can promptly go eff off. In my humble opinion there is only one requirement to having a beautiful body- having a body! Every body is beautiful,…
  • That's awesome! Great job!!
  • That's great!
  • You're doing great! Liquid stage SUCKED for me. But, now it's barely a memory! I hear you on the different diet for my spouse... As weird as it is I liked cooking for my husband during that time as it made me feel slightly more normal since I love to cook. Hang in there, this is the hardest part and you're almost there!…
  • Congrats! May you have a smooth recovery!
  • My hands were actually scary the first few days post op- no one told me how swollen they would get! They were HUGE from the edema. Glad some of the water is coming off. Keep an eye on it but you will probably be back to normal shortly
  • Hi! Welcome!! Agreed with thaeda- lots of good info and super nice folks around here. Feel free to add me as a buddy :)
  • I have been donating some stuff, and actually found a local buddy on here to send my clothes to. Too bad we couldn't start a clothing exchange :/ I was glad to see them go to a good home. I've been wearing a lot of hand me downs, thrifted stuff and honestly, new stuff can be even cheaper if on sale or purchased with a…
  • I think it just depends on how you carry weight. I have always been the "evenly distributed" type with bootylicious legs. Because of this the 65 lbs I have lost has come from all over but those spots I gained last (arms/waist) were the first to go. I am sure as you get smaller all parts will get smaller too. Embrace your…
  • I too swear by ginger. I get ginger lozenges at the natural food coop and that helps a lot. Sometimes I also do candied ginger (but it does have a lot of sugar so use caution). A friend of mine also used ginger throughout her entire (very difficult) pregnancy. At one point she was on an IV the vomiting was so bad. She was…
  • Thank you for being you! You're such a positive force on these boards and a beautiful person and spirit. You help so many (including myself) with your honesty and camaraderie- so thank you!
  • Wowee girlie! You look fabulous
  • Wahoo that's awesome girl!
  • Take this with a grain of salt as my surgeon went straight from full liquid to soft food (working up in density/firmness) so I never really had a purée stage per se. The first week was very soft or blended food so I think that's kinda like purée? I second the baked ricotta. It was so good! I have always been an egg kinda…
  • That sounds super fun!! I know what you mean about the heat... 60+ lbs lighter makes it feel like 30 degrees cooler. Keep having fun- you deserve it!
  • I'm getting the full panel in the next few weeks for my 4 mo post op. Maybe talk to your pcp? Mine wants to see the blood work to stay in the loop and said she would be ordering if the surgeon didn't... But I have always had chronic vit d deficiency and thyroid issues so maybe my situation is a bird of a different feather.…
  • Feel free to add me as a friend! Welcome- I truly don't know what I would do without this group's support :) everyone is so welcoming and kind!
  • Woweee! You look fabulous!
  • Best of luck :) keep us posted how it all went
  • I agree with all that has been said previously. I have a snack/mini meal every 3-4 hours drinking water in between. But as far as easy and filling breakfast- I make mini crustless quiches in a muffin tin for my hubby at the beginning of the week. There's tons of recipes online but a little cheese/veg maybe meat and they're…
  • Yeah I'm a 36 extra long at this point...LOL. I've lost at least 2 cup sizes and 3 band sizes. And I'm only halfway (little under) to my goal weight. No suggestions or advice here-you're not alone!
  • Bikrchk- those quinoa chips are BOMB. So good! I do have to be careful to measure 1 oz but to be honest it's a big portion for me, and the protein keeps me satisfied. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • You might need to eat a little more. 900-1000 cals isn't much especially doing exercise so high intensity. Kickboxing is super hard (I used to do it in my skinny days!) and needs fuel. As was mentioned above you may be swapping fat for muscle too- and muscle is 3x denser than fat. Follow docs orders of course but maybe mix…
  • My fave budget protein is BODY FORTRESS (lol silliest name so now I caps it and say it in my best juice-head voice lol). In all seriousness, it's under 200 cal for 30 g protein. Pb chocolate is good as it vanilla (mixed with water and froz berries- like a smoothie!) I get mine at Walgreens/cvs and I know Walmart also…
  • I remember this feeling! Nervous and excited :) like you I lost about 20 lbs in the 6 months preop and now am losing nicely! Best of luck, this forum is awesome so if you have any questions or butterflies definitely chime in!
  • I finally found quest bars at whole foods. I tried a pb brownie and cinnamon roll. Both decent. Macros are great- lots of fiber and protein. Thanks for the recommendation they're my new go to! I also tried the epic buffalo bites and I LOVE them! They look a little like dog treats lol but they are delicious! 100 cal/9g…
  • Stalling at week 3 is very very normal. Your body is just recalibrating- don't worry it will move again! Welcome and congrats!
  • Congrats! As everyone said recovery is prob the least "fun" but will be over in the blink of an eye
