Finally, a thread with an age bracket I fit into. Only just, though.

Amateur.

Yay! Looks kinda like the dog from Fraggle Rock, if I'm remembering him right.

I really feel like you're the "go-to" for wls on this site. It sucks seeing people go through such drastic measures and not be successful. You're a great example of using the tool properly. The best hammer won't get up and build a deck by itself. It takes someone with the right skills, education, quality materials, and a…

I keep putting sriracha on all my pizza, even if it doesn't seem like it belongs there. I used to do the same with Frank's.

Welcome, newbie! :relaxed:

Do you have any serious health conditions associated with your weight? There are many many many people on MyFitnessPal who have lost 100+ lbs without surgery, myself included. I just started with a calorie goal and the foods I was already eating, and walking for exercise. As you go, you learn which foods are making it…

You have just opened up a whole new world to me. <3

Those are tough issues, but have little to do with weight regain. If you are suffering, you should return to your medical care team and re-assess your dietary choices, supplementation, etc. Weight regain is still a product of calories. Success is absolutely possible. You still have the tool of surgery available to help you.

You guys are killing me with the gay stuff.

Made a gif of Mack Attack doing very little attacking.

One time my dad asked my sisters and I what "pink sock" was. We refused to tell him, but referred him to Urban Dictionary. He took out his iPhone... Hilarity ensued.

The water in Crystal Light is still water. Water in coffee is water. Water in soda is water.

Counting calories/MFP because I don't like to be told how to live my life.

It definitely feels like my fat brain won't die. The mirror is always a pain. Taking pictures is helpful, but if I look at before and after photos for long enough, I can convince myself that there's not much of a difference. I can be swimming in my old t-shirts which I now wear as night shirts, but I still can't unsee what…

Yeah, you have quite a long time to go and a lot of weight to lose before you have any idea of what you'll look like in the end. Even once you get all the weight off, you'll still have to wait a while before your skin reaches its final form. Relax and enjoy the ride.

You'll need to consume fewer calories than you use, regardless. What those calories are made up of is entirely up to you.

The body uses what it needs, when it needs it, always.

You can exercise whenever you want as well, but that's neither here nor there. Food timing makes no difference for weight loss.

Last weekend, my dad made himself 4 pieces of bread topped with peanut butter and sliced ham for lunch. I wasn't sure if he was high, or if my sisters and I need to talk about putting him in a home (he's in his 50s  ). He said it's a Navy thing, peanut butter and meat. *shrug*

Having seen how badly it affects multiple people's lives, I'm annoyed for you. <3

Just MFP for food. MapMyRun to track exercise, but that's more just for record keeping.

You can lead a horse to water, but if the horse is convinced that you're lying about where the water came from because it hasn't figured out how to find its own water even though you've told it repeatedly where it could find water and all it has to do is go there and drink the *kitten*, and is pretty sure you're on speed…

I read this as asking more about the method than the CICO itself. Any diet works so long as it tips the balance in the right direction. Personally, the best thing I ever did was cut out the middle man and just deal with the calories. I don't do well being told what to eat.

They really should do something. I don't want to freak you out but it has potential to be deadly. I'd push the issue. Even sleeping next to someone with sleep apnea is frightening. I know you have a lot going on with your health, but to me, sleep apnea isn't a "back burner" issue.

Woah. An MD. No MD ever gave bad weight loss advice, based on the number of people on MFP being put on 800-1000 calorie diets for no reason by their doctor, given pills that make them poop an oil slick by their doctor, sold what basically amounts to MLM garbage with a medical front, etc.

If anyone is selling you HCG, they are lying to you and/or breaking the law, selling you fake drops. Real HCG is not effective as a weight loss aid, and it's illegal in the US to market it as such. It's supposed to be used in conjunction with a 500 calorie diet. Gee, I wonder how the weight loss happens.

@Nerdbear88 Don't you have a blog floating around somewhere? I'm pretty sure I've read about you outside of MFP.
