I don't eliminate anything I like to eat, and I don't force myself to eat anything I don't like. Everything in my diet is something I enjoy.

Counting calories will not slow your metabolism. If your IF routine has you losing weight, then you are consuming fewer calories than you need to maintain. It doesn't matter if you count them or not. Then as you lose weight, your metabolism will slow because you require fewer calories. You didn't break your metabolism.…

Hi, sorry if I misunderstand. If you're looking for recipes, you might have better luck in theb"Food and Nutrition" forum. :)

Honestly, this move is going to wreak absolute havoc on the database. If I can't type in the exact brand name and description and quickly find the correct entry, I'm making a new one. Good luck dealing with that mess, MFP.
-
The barcode scanner just brings you to the same wrong entries you'd find if you searched manually. Then you have go match the correct one, fix it, make a new one, whatever. I'm not paying to do all that work. I won't miss it.

I laughed so hard this morning when I read the e-mail. It's interesting that so many of you are upset by this move because you've found the function to be so helpful but aren't willing to pay for it. I, on the other hand, won't be paying for it for the opposite reason. There is SO MUCH WORK that goes into using the barcode…

I have to agree. A lot of people seem to like having all that info right there. However, the calorie goal/eaten/exercise/balance was always there when you first open the app, and the other things aren't really relevant on the day-to-day basis. All they really did was add an extra screen to tap through to get to other…

I haven't been in the forums in a while. I'd probably have veteran status by now 😆. I started at about 250 in January 2015. Over about 3 years, I got down to 135. Then I fell off, moved in with my bf and started slowly gaining back. By the end of 2020 I was back to 225 (yikes). I'm back on my bs and making good progress.…

Customizable would be nice. This one does nothing for me. I might find it useful if I could choose what's on it. Tbh I'd rather just have the app open straight to the diary.
-
The new dashboard doesn't really give me anything useful. I'm not complaining. It just kind of gave me an extra screen to tap past while I'm trying to get where I'm going. One thing I do want to complain about is the widget. Why is it so MASSIVE? It doesn't even do more than the old widget. It's like it's huge for no…

Glad it's not just me. And it's not just devices. My fitbit steps won't sync, and the walk I logged on mapmyrun didn't copy over so I had to manually enter an exercise into my mfp diary.

I've been away from the forums for so long. Had some serious gains (not the good kind) over the past 3 years, and been trying to get back to what made me successful before. Seeing this thread on the first page makes it feel like I never left. All the folks struggling to manage their grease farts really puts things back…

Here to join the circus. Between 2015 and 2018 I went from 250 to 135. I'm back up to 225 ffs. I allowed my circumstances (pandemic, moved in with my bf, etc) to influence some very bad decision making over a prolonged period of time. I hate that I let myself get this way again. I feel so tired, weak and incapable. Started…

I wanna do so many naughty things to that pancake.

I remember my first KFC meal after I started tracking calories. It was one of the first things to go, but I walked about 7 mi that day and could fit it in, so why not have a treat? I did enjoy it, but oh god the gas and diarrhea afterward. I'll still dabble now and then but at least I know what to expect.

Was this a medically supervised regimen? It's pretty extreme, and probably not something the average person would want to do.
-
Not that it's my business but I'm personally upset that you weren't sat down and counseled in great detail on this medication. Pretty careless on the doctor's part.

WHAT the whip-its would be spectacular.

I could hear this gif

Why would we not log them? Should we hide in shame? Of course people will be defensive of their food choices when they're being called into question. If you think your post wasn't judgement, or you didn't mean it to be, read it back in the tone in which you wrote it. Caps, interrobangs, "clean eating," etc. Don't "feel for…

Coke No Sugar has a different blend of sweeteners from Coke Zero. It definitely tastes different, and does NOT taste more like regular coke than Coke Zero does. I thought Coke Zero was pretty damn close.

It's a bit more tart. I didn't like it.

If you want a solid (hehe) baseline, then weigh after. I eat late anyway so it works for me. Otherwise, just use a weight trending app and weigh at the same time every day and it'll give you an average. Do a before and after once in a while, just for fun.

Oh my god, I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Not the grief part (hugs to you for your troubles) but all the other stuff.
-
I'm not sure what's unclean about butter, but I would think "substitutes" would be even moreso. It's entirely up to you, since each "clean eating" guide has its own definition.
-
Really, it's not a good idea to use the "with milk" total anyway, unless you're stranded without labels (like a hotel breakfast or something). Log each item separately based on the label that's in front of you.
-
It's been a while since I've griped about "verified" entries on MFP. Verified entries just mean that enough people have marked them as "correct" and it stops users from editing the entries. It doesn't mean it actually is correct. Always go by the label you have in front of you.

Eat whenever. Account for everything. ETA: CRAP. I haven't been here much lately and just got bit by a zombie.

If you think it's taking a long time now, imagine how long it'll take if you quit. ;) Take your time, for however much time it takes.
