  • Went to Disney Magic Kingdom tonight and managed to get 6569 steps in. I'm hurtring but feel pretty happy that I made my goal for today of getting at least 6000
  • Hi, I'm 50 too and would welcome mutual support and motivation on this journey. In September I was down 85 lbs and have since then gained 22 lbs. It's been a struggle. I hope to connect with other likeminded folks on here.
  • Found this wonderful thread and would like to make myself accountable here. A few months ago I was up to 20k daily steps and was maintaining that for quite some time. I started prolotherapy/PRP treatments on my ankle and since then, it's all I can do to get 5,000 steps any given day. It's been pretty depressing for me and…
  • Good morning everyone, I'm late to this post but really need all the motivation and support I can get. In September I was 85 lbs. but have been having some prolotherapy/PRP treatments on my ankle and since then have gained 22 lbs. Needless to say this morning is a new day and the depression has set in. I've been telling…
  • So I have a Ftbit Blaze but am always up for motivating challenges. I have the Up app on my iPhone and would like to participate in duels of anyone is interested. Username is Trish C
  • Hi, I'm 49 and have been obese pretty much my entire life. I lost 150 pounds in 1995 and after some personal hardships and even more happier times, I reached my highest weight in September, 2014 of 315. I began my journey and lost 73 lbs. in a year and then I had a setback plus vacation and the holidays. A couple of weeks…
  • Thanks to all of you for responding. I'm looking forward to connecting with each of you on this journey. I'm excited and hope you are too!
  • For instance, today I have 15.000 steps so far and did 1/2 hour strength training and in MFP it shows 1131 under the exercise column. Is that unheard of?? Again, I'm asking to correct whatever I may be doing wrong.
  • I walk on the treadmill at the gym every day for 60 minutes at 4-6 incline. I work out with a personal trainer 3x a week and I take hour walks in the evening with my husband. I am notanually adding exercises into MFP, I let Firbit handle that. I use a scale to weigh all my food, including all my fruits (2-3 per day). I…
  • I have everything set in Fitbit as you recommend. What I was looking for was your answer about 100ish goal. Now I realize I haven't been eating enough to account for the Fitbit adjustments. I will try this and pray it works.
  • Yes, I weigh everything as I was doing weight watchers before this so that I'm definitely doing that. I burn about 800-1000 exercise calories a day and usually eat some of that to balance out and leave a couple hundred leftover. But if I'm supposed to have 0 at end of night then it may be that I'm not eating enough even…
  • Hi, I'm 5'3 and currently 252.4 lbs. I started out at 315.2 and have lost 62.8 over the last 10 months. My first goal is 218 to be at my wedding weight 15 years ago. It's been slow and steady. If you'd like to be my friend, feel free to add me and I will support you and encourage you on this journey. Anyone else with…
  • Got it, thanks for the suggestions
  • I let MFP set up the goal. Fitbit, based on my activity, labels me as lightly active. I've been increasing my activity as I lose weight. According to everything I've read on MFP, since I'm at a desk job and sitting most of my day with the exception of a few walking breaks, that is considered sedentary. When I did my first…
  • Hi, I'm new to calorie counting and it looks like some of you more experienced folks may be able to assist me with the question below: I'm set up as sedentary to lose 2 lbs. a week and enabled the negative adjustments. I exercise 6-7 x a week, average 14k steps a day, work out with a personal trainer 2x a week. I've added…
  • I appreciate all the comments but I am seriously not getting this at all and feel pretty dumb right about now. I'm set up as sedentary to lose 2lbs a week and enabled the Fitbit negative adjustments. I've added everything in my diary for the day of what I anticipate to eat today. Here's how my board looks. Goal: 1200 Food:…
  • Congratulations on the progress so far. Cutting out soda was one of the first things I did so I can totally understand what a success that is. If you can join a YMCA or go somewhere to do water aerobics, that really helped me in the beginning to get used to moving and get the exercise in even with a bad knee and ankle.
  • What an awesome accomplishment!! Did you eat the exercise calories or did you just focus on the caloric goal MFP gave you? Do you use a Fitbit? I'm new to MFP and switched over from Weight Watchers and would really learning more about how it worked for you.
  • I would like to participate in the challenge if not too late to join. Thank you!
  • Hi Jennifer, I am 48 and experienced the same issue when I first started adding walking to my routine. I initially joined a gym to do water aerobics and started out doing 10 minutes on the treadmill. That was hard at first and now I'm up to 60-80 minutes of walking daily. For me, my left hip/leg (with bad knee) over…
  • Thank you both for the input. I will be patient
  • would love some friends, 5'3 - 259 lbs - 59 down
  • Hi Loren, I look forward to connecting with you and cheering you one!
  • I'm on the same journey and would love to share experiences with others and welcome a buddy too
