I enjoy Ginger root. Cut thin slices (about the size of a nickel) and put in a pan with water, bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer to taste. Instant pot is the only way that I cook steel cut oats. The water to oats is 3 parts to 1 part, set on high pressure for 4 minutes then allow 10 minutes natural pressure release.

Read the Atkins plan. I was put on it for blood pressure and weight loss. I really like it, but one does need to actually read the book. Of course, I am 56 yrs and nutritional requirements are a little different than at your age. Stay focused and positive, you can do it.
