No. If I want something I eat it, log it, and keep going./

This. And why does disagreeing and or asking for evidence to back up what you're saying always become "hateful attacks" or "snarky"?? I will never understand that.

I don't see a loss for about 3 to 4 weeks. I'm small, don't have much to lose, and want to enjoy food/life so I'm trying to lose while still eating as much as I can :) And it's working!
-
It was a huge eye opener to real portion sizes of food, I was in complete denial before. I love my scale I don't think it's a hassle at all! I've never had to lose weight before and I don't have much to lose so the scale keeps me on track and makes it so much easier!

Someone would get their hair pulled out if they bothered me at the salon!
-
It's just a shame with all the free programs there are out there- like fitness blender and MFP.
-
I've found the same thing! I know for a lot of people they say drinking diet pop leads to them eating or craving more sugary foods or overeating but the exact opposite happens for me. It curbs my cravings and it actually helps keep me full longer when I have a diet pop.
-
Preach! I love diet pop, you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands :p I'm not a coffee drinker so I have one in the morning pretty much every morning.
-
Thank god I have no social media profiles besides this one and no one ever tries to sell me anything. People are so gullible it's sad!
-
This does not make sense to me. Why not just eat in a calorie deficit so you don't have to steer clear of anything?

I'm 5'2" and current weight is 139. I have little goals lined up but my ultimate weight goal is 120 and then I'll reassess from there. I'm hoping by November/December to be at 120. Taking it slow and steady so I can still enjoy food, drinks, and life!
-
It would depend on how tall you are, your current weight, and the rate at which you would like to lose weight if that is appropriate or not for you. I'm 5'2" currently weight 139 and am sedentary (I have a desk job) and MFP gives me 1400 to lose at the rate of .5 per week.
-
It doesn't matter. Majority of the time I do not have a proper "breakfast" and I'm still steadily losing.
-
I think you should see a therapist or a psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy as they could really help you with your struggles regarding food and how and when you're eating it when you're not hungry.
-
Seriously? OP is looking for lunch inspiration, not your opinion on another MFPers lunch. OP- I had chicken breast on leafy greens with egg, tomato, cucumber, shredded carrots, and a light vinaigrette.
-
Then why not encourage them to sign up for MFP? It's free and you still get to help with their goals.

Turning 30 in three weeks :# :s

From her use of the term clean eating and has been "eating clean" the last couple months-this was my first guess. She probably subconsciously correlates chips as "bad" now since they're "junk" and is experiencing anxiety or guilt from eating them. Go get it checked out, heart palpitations are not something to ignore OP.

+1 so much.
-
No. What is it exactly? Is it a diet consisting only of green smoothies? I enjoy a smoothie every so often but I prefer to eat my food.
-
Awesome!! Really love this thread! Going on 15 months alcohol free here :)
-
This thread makes me so happy <3
-
OMG that face!! <3 <3

The less you have to lose the slower it's going to be. Make sure you're logging is as tight as you can get it (weighing ALL foods will ensure this happens) and keeping that deficit and the weight will eventually come off, good luck :)
-
How is his metabolism going to speed up?
-
Weight loss is not linear, it's going to fluctuate a lot. Also you have got to give it more time than 5-7 days. When you've been keeping a routine for 6-8 weeks and your weight isn't a downward trend then come back and post.
-
It really doesn't take much time at all. I have my scale on my island and I weigh absolutely everything, it's fun. The less weight you have to lose the tighter your logging needs to be and if you're not losing weight and you're eating prepackaged meals a lot I highly doubt it's the sodium making your body retain water.…
-
Do they have a lot more weight to lose? I understand the frustration, I'm on the small side at 5'2" and don't have much to lose so I go weeks without seeing a loss.
-
You have a small amount to lose and it's only been two weeks, you need to give it much more time.
-
After reading so much about it here that's what I did! I could probably eyeball my portions and be fine but I love using my food scale!
