  • I have a similar problem with no dr's ever helping me for years. I saw an Endo last week and she right away put me on T4t3 combo, I was taking OTC natural thyroid. She felt I needed a higher t3 to T4 ratio and so wants me to try the synthetic for 3 months to see if she can dial it in better. I am on a much lower dose than…
  • She really drilled into me how important it is to not eat or take any suppliments that have calcium within 4 hours of the thyroid med or it won't be absorbed properly. Just wanted to share that in case it's helpful!
  • I have also been taking the same med for a week too. I am still very tired. I have a LOT of weight to loose. I brought in my food diary and my Endo said I am not eating nearly enough calories and that that she sees that a lot with obese thyroid patients. She is having me see her nutritionist. I upped my calories this week…
  • The thing with Hashimotos is it doesn't just effect your thyroid, it makes you much more prone to inflammation. For many people removing the inflammation triggers in the diet helps a lot. No, you won't grow back your thyroid, but you will feel better and your body will work better.
  • As others have said, if it's Hashimotos then it might help. I have Hashimotos and totally grain free helps me. If you have symptoms like joint pain, water retention or other symptoms I say try it. Going a month gluten or preferably grain free will let you know if you need to or not.
  • Hashimotos is an autoimmune issue, so try and investigate things that trigger inflammation and cut those out. I do best on natural thyroid and paleo diet (I do still have dairy some, but shouldn't, it bothers me lol). I was dx in Sept, trying to get med figured out.
  • I don't eat any grain esp not wheat and really watch the sugar. I juice and make a mean green/dr oz juice. I have Hashimotos so for me inflammation is a real issue.
