Hi ptmom99. That sounds very challenging. Congratulations on being a survivor and not giving up on the weight loss efforts despite the obstacles. You are an inspiration!

That's why I weigh myself on Friday morning, just in case I have a difficult weekend! And you gals are right, going over one day or even two isn't so bad if the overall week is good. I love that we can see our average calories each week, that's what really counts!
-
Yeah, why do we do stuff like that? This is probably the longest I've ever kept up with to tracking my food without giving up (24 days), but some days it's so hard. Counting every bite that goes into your mouth is not easy! I really have to fight the urge to just sit on the couch and mindlessly snack...why does it give me…

One of my favorite snacks are the frozen bags of edamame that you can steam in the microwave right in the bag. It's quick, easy, nutritious, and satisfies that desire to nibble.

Ah yes, I have fallen for that many times. "It will be nice to have this bag of peppermint patties in my desk so I can have a little afternoon treat each day". Next thing I know the whole bag is gone in one sitting. Solution: I don't buy that stuff anymore. My sweets are now things like strawberries and yogurt. :)

Great tjluster, did you see how to join the group?

Hi all. Lisa, I have had a similar history of weight issues for all of my adult life. Up and down, over and over. Every time I start to get on the right track something seems to happen to derail me. The latest was developing plantar fasciitis two weeks after getting into a healthy food and walking routine. So I haven't…

Thank you Cindie! I found it!
-
That's great. How do we join the group? I did a search but couldn't find it.
-
That's so funny, I've been logging for 21 days and am down 10 out of 60 too!
-
Congratulations! What an accomplishment! Do you have any tips on how you stayed on track? From past experience I know that maintaining can be harder than losing the weight was.
-
Chris, same here. Lots to lose, history of getting distracted, serious now, have only been using MFP to track food and exercise. Please let me know if you figure it all out!
-
@Chirpybunny, I have been accused of being obsessed too, but in this case I think it's a good thing!
-
Wow! This is awesome, so many people joining in! I've been tracking my food on MFP off and on for a couple years but always managed to get sidetracked. This time I am serious! The community part is also new to me. Do we have to do something to join or is this how it's done?

Hello LJFJ. I am a fellow cat lover. I am sorry for the loss of your husband. This losing weight thing is the hardest thing I've ever tried to do. But after carefully (obsessively?) tracking all my food and exercise for 3 weeks I have lost 10 pounds. It works and you can do it too! Best of luck! Just take it one…
-
5 pounds by the end of May should be very doable!
-
I think it's great to set small goals at a time. That's why I'm thinking in terms of 10 pounds at a time. Now I'm ready to take off the next 10!!!
-
Hi! I am with you! But I have a lot more than 15 pounds to lose! I just lost the first 10 after tracking my food and exercise for about 3 weeks. I have become rather obsessed with it, very motivated!

Sounds good to me. Can I join in?
