  • I think exercise can help with general mood, but if you have actual clinical depression, it takes more than exercise to get better. It's a medical condition.
  • you really have to work hard as a woman to look "manly" when it comes to weight lifting. I mean REALLY hard. Like it's your job. I don't think you need to worry about that.
  • I think it would be a lot of noise. I get that the springs absorb a lot, but I still think it would be SUPER annoying to whoever lived downstairs. Try one in the store, maybe Dick's or something would have one you could try. I think the bouncing is goingto be a problem whether you're on a tramp on plain floor. Just my 2…
  • I'm no expert but if you're nursing I don't think you should be limiting your calories too much...
  • I think one donut is not going to kill your weigh in. It would be really sad if it could. Like a 3500 calorie donut? Then maybe. But a crispy creme glazed? Nope.
  • that is amazing, congratulations on your accomplishment!
  • i walk outside, but I live in Asheville, NC, so it hasn't gotten terribly cold out just yet. I would honestly rather deal with the cold than the treadmill! I went to the gym the other day because it was raining and it just dragged on despite my watching Hulu! I find my walks go by much faster when I'm outside. Just get…
  • thanks guys! this is all good info. it's nice to hear real people's experiences
  • i was wondering about the guidelines. i know they're not actually "natural". i am on so many meds right now though that i think it's stalling my weightloss. Today was crap (i had subway), but for the most part i eat around 1300=1500 cals and haven't managed to break 170 to save my life. they're saying this may help me wean…
  • it's actually a study through the Veteran's advocacy center, and my VA doc has been zero help (shocker). Right now my cycle is only about 3-3.5 weeks :/ it would suck if it was any shorter! as far as i know i'm not anemic, they haven't told me i am anyway.
  • i'm only 34 and i've been dealing with them - mostly at night - for a few years now. i'll wake up soaked. it's so frustrating. i literally set my window unit to 65 and still get them! exploring bioidentical hormones to see if they might be a good option, anyone have experience with them?
  • thanks so much! i posted in there, hopefully i get some feedback from other people, i want to get as much feedback as possible
  • which group? i did a search and there are a couple...
  • PS BIG congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!!
  • thank you! do you mind if i ask what you are on them for? you don't have to answer if you don't want to. the main reason they want to try me on them is for PTSD but i also have a lot of problems with excessive bleeding on my periods with weakness from them, migraines, sleep problems, etc.
  • Do they have any side effects? i've been trying to search around for information but haven't found much. my doctor hasn't given me a ton of information and tends to downplay any side effects from past experience. i just want to know what i might expect, acne? weight gain? is it like being on the pill or is it totally…
  • I agree that nutrition/calories in is about 80% of the battle, people tend to overestimate how many calories they burn during exercise and eat those calories back and then some. That said- exercise- to me- is a very important part of my weightloss journey. it makes me feel better about my body and gives me wiggle room in…
  • I'm late to reply but if you're in transitional size (smaller than your old clothes but not quite where you want to be yet) go to goodwill/thrift shops!!!!! get yourself some good staples like a skirt/pants/coat. you might have to do some hunting but you'll save some money and feel good about yourself and your progress
  • I'm 5'5" and 171(ish- depending on the day). I have been overweight my whole life. i grew up in the hot dogs/mac and cheese/swiss cake rolls era and it's what i always go back to (well, not the hot dogs anymore, ew). i got down to 135 when i was about 18 when i first joined the military and didn't have a clue that i was…
  • I will preface this by saying that i have never been more than 50lbs over weight, but i can understand what you're saying... there are a lot of emotions with transformation. I've gone up and down A LOT. anywhere from 135 to 210 and it makes me sad looking back to remember that even when i was 135 i still thought i was fat.…
  • i think it would depend on HOW she asked... i can see it going either way, but yah. i would ask. just casually. "so what made you decide to ask me out?" it might help to know what some one else sees in you to help you see it in yourself...
  • I can't do ice cream out of a container and keep servings in check. i have zero self control. it's just something i know about myself. that and pizza, so i don't keep it around. i get skinny cow bars instead, they're wonderful and very satisfying!
  • MMMMMM I LOVE skinny cow chocolate truffle bars!!!! they're my nighttime treat.
  • i don't like meat very much either, if i do eat any meat it's low sodium turkey bacon as a snack, i've started to like gorton's salmon (they're frozen into little 1 portion servings for you) because it's easy and not gross to deal with, sometimes i'll eat chicken and turkey if i go out, but mostly i eat veggie substitutes…
  • one of my FAVORITE foods is pizza, and it takes very little prodding to get me to fall off the ledge. a good looking pizza commercial is like p-o-r-n. i also love ice cream (specifically the coldstone variety) but i can take or leave it driving by and with commercials. but yah, pizza has many many triggers for me! oh and…
  • is it because of the liquid in there i wonder? that's why it's 123g instead of 80?
  • YAY! good job!
  • i just decreased my calories and find i am annoyed by how hungry i am. i am hoping it goes away soon. last night after dinner i had to skip my tea (with cream and sugar that would add up to 80 calories and usually sates me for the last few hours before bed) and i was SOOOO irritated (perhaps sugar withdrawls?). i brushed…
  • i think so, my "set weight", what my body seems to be comfortable at- is about 155-160. i CAN get below that- in the 140's but it's not sustainable for me. Right now i'm at 174ish because i let things go but i can (and WILL) get back down to my 155 and stay there as long as i don't go all ham again. i got really depressed…
