I survived a fluctuation and didn't freak out. My scale weight increased one pound from Thursday to Sunday. Today it's 0.6 less than Thursday. The victory is that I just kept going with my logging and didn't give in to feelings of defeat and frustration.

I'm amazed at how much you and I have in common.

My birthday is in 4 weeks. I'd like to achieve the milestone of a loss of 25 pounds since the beginning of the year. I'm down 22 as of now, so that's another 3 pounds. This is a realistic goal and just another stepping stone to the next goal of having a body mass under 25. I'm 10 pounds from a normal body mass. Maybe I…

Good point. By "better" I'm meaning better for my health. No doubt the organic tomato my husband grows in the back yard tastes worlds better than the conventional one I buy in the store. Interesting thoughts. Thank you.

Mine is weird too. My app shows 1280 calories and the website shows 1230 calories per day.

One more vote for eating back half of the assigned workout calories.

You, sir, are a genius. This makes perfect sense. If weight loss could be broken down into daily increments, and I lose on days I eat at a deficit, I would not gain on a maintenance day. I would simply not lose weight that day. This is exactly how I'm going to approach the celebration luncheon for my daughter's college…

Ooo...good point! That makes a difference in how I think about this.

Good for you! MFP is a wonderful program. You won't regret it.

Today's the day I am no longer a liar. My scale weight matches my license. I was 20 pounds over! Now on to the next goal.

I have MapMyWalk and I sincerely enjoy it. At every mile, it makes a little announcement about how far I've walked, and how fast. I appreciate the way it syncs with MyFitnessPal and tracks the mileage on my (new) walking shoes. Does anyone know how long I can pause a workout? If I walk to the store and pause it for an hour…

You said it best.

Yes. This.
-
Yes, this. Thank you!

Log your exercise on the day you plan to eat the extra snacks rather than the day you earn the calories. Example: Log my 200 calories burned from my walk on Friday on Sunday to offset my planned snack.

Yes, indeed. "Creeping Quantities" is what got me back to needing to take off pounds again.

This might not be a popular opinion but I need to keep track of my food in the same way that I need to keep track of my money. MFP for my food is just like having a budget plan my money. Because life changes so very much from day to day, saying I don't need to keep tabs on my money or my food is just looking for trouble.…

My BMI is now 27.4, down from 30.4. I'm ready to go try on jeans in the next size down. I had to switch to my 28 year old smaller wedding ring. I'm two pounds away from the weight on my driver's license. The goal of losing 20 pounds for my daughter's college graduation is in sight. Just 2 pounds to go.

Sure, I can. It's because I've used up my daily allotment of calories by 8:00 p.m.

Love this! Very true!

How long could I live without soda? The rest of my life. It's not a food I enjoy. Coffee on the other hand.....

No, I wouldn't live off sweets every day. If I had them all the time, they wouldn't have the appeal that they do when eaten just once in a while. <3

I want to keep the weight off this time and never be a yo-yo dieter again.

I borrowed a belt from my husband to keep my pants up. I'm not ready to start replacing clothing yet so I'm trying to "make it do" on items in my closet for the time being.

Thank you SO much!
