  • My kids and I use the laptop lunch bento.. We've had them for 4 years now.
  • Tonight I cooked the most satisfying whole30 dish to date ... Walnut pesto stuffed chicken breasts. It was a little high in calories, but hit all the right notes!
  • Tried 2 new recipes this week with some success. Created from scratch chicken enchiladas using eggplant in place of tortillas. The 10 year old thinks they were better than regular enchiladas.
  • Enjoying reading everyone's posts.. Seems I need to ramp up my exercise. Jealous of the kayaks. If we bought one, we wouldn't get any exercise, because hubs would use it for fishing. Staying below calories, seem to have cravings under control. Now have super skinny fingers.. Not kidding, seem to have lost most of the 7…
  • What I miss is Mexican food, especially chips and guacamole!
  • Back from a trip .. Stocked up at grocery store, ready for a week of home cooked goodness. Planning something w/ shrimp for dinner tonight.
  • Have stayed crazy active lad 2 days.. Food wise I haven't been perfect, but I have been pretty good. No alcoholic beverages, unhealthy snacks, or dessert even though there has been plenty of opportunity. Will weigh Monday .. Hopefully no damage done.
  • Wish me luck cool kids. Husband announced we are heading out on a 4 day Roadtrip. We will be active hiking and touring about w/ kids and dog, but will also be eating in restaurants.
  • Thanks for sharing ... Am going to load it in my amazon cart in hopes that hubs makes a purchase... Much nicer than the one I'm currently using.
  • Sautéed spinach and mushrooms, two eggs, sprinkle of Romano.
  • Eggplant Parmesan, eggplant lasagna, eggplant meatless meatballs, are all favorites of the teenage vegetarian living in my house. As long as you salt it first, is great for all types of recipes. Sliced thick it can replace chicken breast and sirloin in just about any recipe. We like eggplant so much I plant it in a…

  • I have an inexpensive spiralizer from the "as seen on tv" section of the CVS. I'm considering replacing it with a crank handle version as the one I have is a little labor intensive and wastes a portion of the zucchini.
  • @janetgiesler - kudos for making it to day 21. I'm at day 6 and feeling fabulous. I've been cooking at home from scratch, drinking tons of lemon water, and turning down hubs' offers of wine and/cocktails. So far I've registered a loss every morning although I am recording Monday as official. Already planning for next 2…
  • Two dog walks for me today too .. 4.5 miles at 17 minute pace.. Dog is ready for me to start jogging. Cooked a fabulous salmon supper. Started a group for foodies with a recipe sharing thread if anyone is interested.
  • Southwestern spiced salmon with roasted peppers, corn and black bean salsa.
  • Welcome to the group @whathejkd - I too find it much easier to cook/meal plan in the summer. In the summer, I grow a salsa garden and a "meatless Monday" garden. I'm also a member of a CSA, so I get a surprise bunch of veggies every Thursday. Tonight I'm grilling salmon and making a roasted corn salsa.. Some how have…
  • I'm in Texas.
  • Hello @karenshorey1 - I'm new to site, but not new to dieting. Hoping this community will help me stay accountable and give me tips and tricks to avoid dieting pitfalls.
  • Welcome @patrickhardy366‌ .. I think loving to cook, and enjoying quality food can be an asset in the fight against the bulge. I'm enjoying searching out recipes that will keep me on track.
  • A few things I do to reduce grocery bill. I feed a family of 4 and cook at home most nights in addition to packing everyone lunch 5 days/week. 1. Buy fruits and veggies that are in season. 2. When buying meat, take advantage of larger size price cuts, then divide into correct portion size for your family, freeze. 3. Skip…
  • Thanks for joining me Terrier.. I'm currently on a diet... Took cruise several months ago, followed by holiday, then busy schedule with too many dinners out. Hoping to focus on more at home cooking, leaving calorie room for weekend wine.. But not until I finish 30 days of getting back on track.
  • Grilled salmon, spinach and quinoa salad.
  • Frequent Zoodler, I have cheap as seen on tv spiral slicer ( $10 at cvs). I throw them in 2-3 minutes at end of cooking water sauce I'm mixing them with.
  • Zoodles w/ bison and veggie sauce.. All from scratch.. Missed the mark on the salt (not enough), fed family of 4.
  • Good morning cool kids... Feeling like I should up my exercise based on reading exercise of others here.. My current goal is to not skip evening dog walks. So far I'm loving mfp. Unfortunately, I have difficulty with moderation so tracking everthing is very helpful. I also like the way the app encourages exercise by adding…
  • Putting this one on my list.. Will sub home cooked beans for canned. Also, I use an up cycled large pasta sauce jar instead of Mason jar. https://bakebroilandblog.wordpress.com/2013/07/25/mason-jar-southwest-chopped-salad/
  • Mahi mahi, pepper sauté, rice /quinoa.
  • Mahi mahi with sautéed peppers over quinoa and rice.
  • I regularly take to work. Generally I start with oil and vinegar, then tomato, then "power greens", nuts or seeds on top.
  • Zoodles are a big hit at my house... Serve as a replacement for pasta, or get fancy. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/zucchini-noodles-zoodles-with-lemon.html?m=1
