  • One of my friends needed temporary medication for post partum. She said it helped a lot. And as you have read total strangers can see the difference. Feel better.
  • Kids are.brutally literal sometimes. My Goddaughter loves to comment on my looks and starts with, "No offence Auntie but your feet are ugly." She has never mentioned my weight but I have been told I am clumsy, not athletic, have bad hair, and wrinkles. Brutal. She just has no filter. So I feel your pain. But kids will…
  • You didn't gain it all back so well done there.
  • You look great in both photos. But how are you feeling? You certainly look happier in the earlier photo.
  • Okay too much sodium makes me bloaty and grumpy. Gah! Here is to a better week. Water is the cure for gas and bloating, right?
  • Oh and if that's your dog, walking him or her counts! Don't forget that.
  • Definitely just keep building up. I started at just 5 minutes on the stairmaster 7 weeks ago and now I can do 15 minutes without totally dying (although I am not super happy afterwards). Just don't push so hard that you puke or get dizzy. So not worth it, IMO. I'm not saying exercise will ever feel good (I don't love it),…
  • I was about 150 when I could wear some size 10s. Depends on the make like a lot of people have said. I personally don't try to focus on clothing sizes however You are probably too young to remember Oprah walking out in her size 8 jeans all proud of herself. And she should have been. But I also think Oprah looks pretty darn…
  • Yep. That is mindful eating. Delayed gratification doesn't always work for me. I just ate a bag of croutons I have been eyeing for two weeks. The whole darn bag in two snacking sessions. I enjoyed them but now I know I can't buy them for a while. Knowing your trigger foods helps. Mine is crunchy bread. I worked out hard…
  • I'm blaming the moon. ;^). But it has been a rough week for some reason. Spring fever? Not sure why, but the food keeps calling to me. And getting fit is challenging. I've never been REALLY fit. I think the most I've ever run continuously was 3 miles (I get bored running). Not sure if I'll ever be truly fit. With age comes…
  • I try to be grateful that my body functions well enough. All my limbs work. I am fortunate. But man I can nitpick myself. If asked what I like I would have to admit....not much. Other than it all works.
  • The food diary helps a lot. Write.down everything immediately. Accountability. I eat emotionally too. Mindlessly if I allow myself. I don't. If I eat a bag of chips it gets recorded fast. If I eat an apple I write it.down but it isn't as urgent. I don't believe in forbidden foods but some foods have nutrition and some…
  • Some of that 5 lbs might be musle weight from the workouts. Or your period/bloating weight. Focus on those awesome blood sugar numbers. Congratulations on that.
  • I keep telling that to myself. Not gaining is a win. But only 6 lbs in 6 weeks is frustrating. But I did plan on only 1 lb a week. Slow and hopefully steady.
  • Similar and a yoyo person too. I am on the 5 year yoyo. 1 year to lose. 1 year to enjoy my weight. 1 year to gain. 1 year feeling gross. And back to dropping it again. Every 5 years. Sucks.
  • What do you all do at work? I am careful generally about keeping food away from my desk but the other day I lost it (quietly) and scarfed down some leftover snacks from an event. The thing is, I am trying to settle myself down to focus on my task so going for a walk isn't an option. I got into the bad habit of…
  • I don't feel 20 (did I ever?) but it has been harder to lose at 45 than at 41. I low carbed it the last time and while I think low carb is effective I could not sustain it beyond a year. But so slow. Quarter pound a week. Gah! Now I know why 1960s housewives used speed! Patience is not one of my virtues.
  • 45 and want to lose 25 lbs. Have lost 6 since March 8 so very slow.
  • Anxiety, boredom, fear of change. I can still remember the massive bowl of rice and beans I hugged in my lap when my mom was in a coma. Best food memories are from camping when you earn it.
  • You like dinner for breakfast too! I think we get too stuck in ruts. And radishes! Pickled radishes are delicious.
  • Social eating is hard. Drink a lot of water. Keeps your hands busy. I drank 10 glasses of water at my last social dinner and I hate water! I can't do mindful eating when I am chatting. So I try to avoid grazing too much or I go to town on the olives or celery sticks. Last week at a GOT party I brought salad to the pizza…
  • Greek yogurt--lots of protein. I like tofu scrambles (less chloresterol). Peanut butter in my oatmeal. Crunchy peanutbutter. It is all about variety. Make a frittata instead of fried eggs. I love dinner for breakfast--fried rice and veggies. Have fun.
  • That was my goal too. Alas I have yoyo'd. But trying again. It is definitely harder now. My body does not recover from exercise so easily. I am tired all of the time. Working out never feels good. I hope/assume it will be worth it. Truth is I was thinnish just 6 months ago and I chose food over health. I might be more…
  • I will not eat my stress and boredom away. But I may have a big glass of wine.
  • Have you measured your waist? You might be gaining muscle & losing inches. Also if you are like be keeping a food diary is essential. Tedious but essential. It's how you are accountable. Yo-yo weight is frustrating. I do it too and I fail if I don't diary. Good luck. Push through. You are already in a better place than…
  • I am a fast typist.
  • Stop snacking! Today is hard. I am bored and want to eat eat eat. But I will not.
  • Congratulations!
  • I think this is good advice. See what foods are leaving you less filled up. I know plain oatmeal and fruit for breakfast won't keep me filled until lunch, but if I add some peanut butter to the mix, that extra fat keeps me happy. Also, you might be an evening eater, so save more calories for the evening. I personally don't…
