I'm right there with you. Went for a run today and was hating it until about 1 mile in -- something clicked and I was like, oh right I like this. But why is it so hard to get moving??

Hey there, I'm looking for the same. Really want an exercise buddy more than the food logging. I find keeping active makes me more energized/excited/committed/something to make healthier food choices. And exercise feels good. And yet...

I've got an UP24. I like it because I walk a lot for work and it's interesting to get a quantification but I'm skeptical about how accurate it is. I like the sleep tracking a lot and either it or MFP lately had helped me finally start going to the gym. I'd prefer a clip on or something for your ankle, as I've had mine a…

I've never been any good at losing weight. I've been trying to lose 5 to 10 pounds since I was in high school and even as a competitive athlete I couldn't find the motivation. Now I finally started exercising and eating healthy, but I told myself it's not to lose weight so I don't get discouraged. Instead I'm trying to…

Also, active vacation activities! Swimming, hiking, biking, sports, whatever. I felt like I ate a ton and drank too much beer on my last but when I went to the gym I was actually down a pound. Guess a giant burger and a few beers isn't so awful after a 6 hour hike :)

You said diet is the same but unless you mean exactly the same, could it be a change in sodium or potassium intake (too little of the former/much of the latter)? You could definitely keep water weight for a week if you've consistently been high on the sodium. Stupid question: same scale, right? It couldn't be effed up?
-
Totally agree. I do a lot of omlettes or breakfast sandwiches as I prefer savory too. Breakfast meats have tons of sodium but canadian bacon on an English muffin is always tasty. Would be killer with some avocado, roasted red pepper and spinach, with or without egg. Just gotta keep trying new combos! I also like good old…

I said no to my rule about not having coffee after 2pm. Bedtime is full of regret. I also said no to the third glass of wine and washed my car.

Target carries a lot now. I like fake meat, hate the sodium. Quorn is my favorite. I agree with you, I'm not convinced they're healthier, but I keep some around for quick meals (I'm not a vegetarian btws) Personally, I love tofu! Freeze it and squish it like a sponge and it makes a lovely stir fry. Also, protein powder…

That zucchini pizza does sound good! I eat black beans + tomatoes/salsa + add ons (low fat cheese, avocado, roasted corn, chicken/fake chicken, hot sauce/peppers/paprika, cumin, green onions, cilantro, quinoa, rice, etc) sometimes straight, sometimes as a wrap, depending on what's around or looks good at the store. When…

That's awesome! Ever make your own refrigerator pickles? I highly recommend it. Good pickles are crazy overpriced.

I have a jawbone up 24 too i like it well enough although it annoys me that when I'm power walking through Target it thinks I'm working out but never registers my jogs. I like MFP to log food, but I don't trust it on activity. I link it to the jawbone app which seems to play well with others. The MFP syncing seems funky.…

Just eat avocados by the handful! Be generous with cooking oil when you saute vegetables. Opt for delicious full fat yogurt...I'm making myself hungry. I like your diet :)
-
Have you ever made peanut butter balls? It was one of my favorite snacks as a kid--pb with dry nonfat milk and honey or syrup. Dry milk makes it not sticky and ups the protein amount.
-
I've made some with yogurt instead of some of the fat. I forget the recipe but I'm sure you could find and modify. It's not truly healthy, but it is a cookie after all.

I cook most of my meals and I struggle with sodium too. And I never ever get enough potassium. Even on days where my diet subsist primarily of beans, vegetables, fruit and dairy. Its suuuuper frustrating. I notice potassium isn't always listed on nutrition facts, so I like to think part is incomplete entries...

Also, and I might be weird here, but as long as I stay hydrated, I love a good morning after workout. Helps shake off shake off the hangover lethargy and kick start getting back on track

Sweeten up your vegetables, add whole grains and try for microwave cooking on campus instead of processed meals. Julienne carrots with orange juice and and throw in the microwave. Steam broccoli and eat with dried cherries or cranberries and a whole grain like farro. Target makes grain pouches you can heat up in the…

Logging makes you more mindful. I think you could maintain without calorie counting (and it is a pain when you're eating lots of homemade meals because you can't exactly scan the bar code on your kale) BUT the big problem is that when you aren't logging, it's easy to slip into bad habits, especially with portion control. I…

Homemade Frappuccino for breakfast. Add skim milk powder or protein powder if you've got it and it's almost a complete meal.
-
I make a milkshake with frozen yogurt, skim milk and fruit and/or nuts. I hate the taste, but I did get cheap stuff. If I put it in a milkshake I get to indulge my sweet tooth without feeling so bad :p
-
I'm there. I'll bring the milk.
-
Ditto on beans. I make a bean and/or grain salad for lunch a lot--I'm too busy to bother with dried beans but they're definitely cheaper. Then I add canned, sale, frozen or dry vegetables. My go-to combos are: black beans and tomatoes, chickpeas with bulgur or couscous, curry sweet potatoes or orange squash with farro or…
