I'll join. I've been on here for years and have never joined a group...so that's exciting. I need to lose 70 lbs to be at an "ideal" BMI. I'm focusing on 25-30 lbs at a time. :)

I joined Curves several years ago, and the running in place gave me horrible shin splints. I had a hard time walking, it hurt so bad!. What I found is that you do NOT want to "work through the pain". Trust me on this - they will get worse, not better. Whatever you're doing that caused the shin splits, I recommend you stop…

I've never heard that. I think it has more to do with the types of calories you're eating. Then again, eating 400 calories of plain chicken breast would be pretty hard, while eating 400 calories of refined carbs is pretty easy.

Ice cream...but I'm so bad with it that I no longer allow it in the house. I could sit down and eat a whole carton without even thinking about it. My substitute is limited amounts of whipped cream and strawberries. :)

You know how on power lines there are these large black packs? You see them every couple of posts, near the edge. I don't know what they are...maybe some sort of supply or something? I used to think those were squirrels that were electrocuted on the lines. I knew from movies that when you get electrocuted you can't let go…

I also like to over indulge in the evenings, and if I eat after 8pm, I always gain weight. I have found little tricks that work for me, and keep me from eating after the magic hour. First, I brush my teeth after I've hit my caloric goal for the day. Then when I think about eating, I try to remind myself I'll have to brush…

This is a family recipe, and the way I think stroganoff should taste. If you don't like it, then get a different recipe. :) The recipe calls for tomato juice, not tinned tomatoes. And you can find it with low sodium.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement...it's just what I needed!! Good tips too...I like the drinking water through a straw idea (it does kind of mimic cigarettes...haha). I'm also amazed to see other ex-smokers! It really makes me feel like I can do it too. :)

When I make it, I buy the chicken breast packs from target. They're prepackaged, one small breast per pocket. I'm sorry but I don't know the exact size. I would guess they are 4-6oz each. The grape juice sweetens the sauce.

I love doing this too! But my favorite is spice cake mix and a can of (pure) pumpkin. I make the small cupcakes (don't use paper...just grease the pan and spoon the mixture in). Then cook for about 10-ish minutes. Dust them with a little powdered sugar....yum!
